The Acts of the Apostles 12:5,7,10,12-16

5 So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.

7 And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before Peter, and a light shone in the cell. The angel struck Peter on the side and woke him up, saying, "Get up quickly!" And the chains fell off Peter’s hands. 10 After they passed the first and second guard, they came to the iron gate leading into the city. It opened for them on its own, and they went out. When they had gone the length of one street, the angel immediately left him. 12 When Peter realized this, he went to the house of Mary, the mother of John (who was called Mark), where many had gathered together and were praying. 13 Peter knocked at the door of the gate, and a servant girl named Rhoda came to answer. 14 When she recognized Peter’s voice, she was so overjoyed that she did not open the gate, but ran in and reported that Peter was standing in front of the gate. 15 They said to her, "Yoʋ are out of yoʋr mind." But when she kept insisting that it was so, they said, "It is his angel." 16 Meanwhile Peter continued knocking, and when they opened the gate, they saw him and were astonished.
