17 By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac. He who had received the promises was ready to offer up his one and only son, 18 even though God had said to him, "Through Isaac yoʋr descendants will be counted." 19 He reasoned that God could even raise him from the dead. And figuratively speaking, he did receive Isaac back from death.
