Thomas Sees and Believes
24 Now Thomas (called Didymus), one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. 25 So the other disciples said to him, "We have seen the Lord." But he said to them, "Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will certainly not believe."
26 Eight days later, Jesus' disciples were again inside, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you." 27 Then he said to Thomas, "Put yoʋr finger here and look at my hands. Reach out yoʋr hand and put it into my side. Do not doubt but believe." 28 In response Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!" 29 Then Jesus said to him, "Because yoʋ have seen 20:29 me, ¦ me, Thomas, TRme, have yoʋ come to believe? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have come to believe."
