Jesus Sends Out the Twelve Apostles

1 Then Jesus called *9:1 the twelve ¦ his twelve disciples ANT TRthe twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to heal diseases, 2 and he sent them to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. 3 He said to them, "Take nothing for your journey—no *9:3 staffs ¦ staff CTstaffs, no knapsack, no bread, no money—and *9:3 bring only one tunic each 98.9% ¦ do not bring an extra tunic TH WH 1%bring only one tunic each. 4 Whatever house you enter, stay there until you leave that place. 5 If any will not receive you, shake off the very dust from your feet as you leave that town, as a testimony against them." 6 So they set out and went throughout the villages, preaching the gospel and healing people everywhere.
