38 Then some of the scribes and Pharisees 12:38 responded ¦ responded to him CTresponded, "Teacher, we want to see a sign from yoʋ." 39 But Jesus answered them, "An evil and adulterous generation asks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. 40 For just as 12:40 Jonah ¦ the prophet Jonah ANTJonah was in the belly of the great sea creature for three days and three nights, so will the Son of Man be in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights.
