36 Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to the disciples, "Sit here while I go over there and pray." 37 And taking with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to be sorrowful and distressed. 38 Then Jesus said to them, "My soul is very sorrowful, even to the point of death; stay here and keep watch with me." 39 And going a little farther, he fell on his face and prayed, "My Father, if possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as yoʋ will." 40 Then he came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, "So you could not keep watch with me for one hour? 41 Keep watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." 42 Again, he went away for a second time and prayed, "My Father, if this cup cannot pass from me unless I drink it, may yoʋr will be done." 43 Then he came and found them sleeping again, for their eyes were heavy. 44 So he left them and went away again and prayed for a third time, saying the same thing. 45 Then he came to his disciples and said to them, "Sleep on now and take your rest! Behold, the hour has drawn near, and the Son of Man is delivered up into the hands of sinners. 46 Rise, let us go. Behold, my betrayer has drawn near."
