19 Und die Männer in der Stadt sprachen zu Elisa: Siehe! die Wohnung dieser Stadt ist gut, wie mein Herr siehet; aber das Wasser ist schlecht, und das Land ist unfruchtbar.

20 Da sprach er: Bringet mir eine neue Schale, und thuet Salz darein! Und sie brachten sie ihm.

21 Und er ging hinaus, wo das Wasser herauskam, und warf das Salz hinein, und sprach: So spricht Jehova: Ich heile dieses Wasser; es soll hinfort kein Tod, noch Unfruchtbarkeit daher kommen.

22 Da ward das Wasser geheilt, bis auf den heutigen Tag, nach dem Worte Elisa's, das er geredet.

19 And the men of the city said unto Elisha, Behold, we pray thee, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord seeth: but the water is bad, and the land miscarrieth. 20 And he said, Bring me a new cruse, and put salt therein. And they brought it to him. 21 And he went forth unto the spring of the waters, and cast salt therein, and said, Thus saith Jehovah, I have healed these waters; there shall not be from thence any more death or miscarrying. 22 So the waters were healed unto this day, according to the word of Elisha which he spake.
