Phần đất bắt thăm trúng về chi phái Giu-đa, tùy theo những họ hàng của chúng, chạy từ phía giới hạn Ê-đôm tại đồng vắng Xin về phía nam, đến cuối miền nam. 
Giới hạn phía nam chạy từ đầu Biển mặn, tức là từ phía ở ngay về hướng nam; 
rồi từ dốc Ac-ráp-bim chạy dài xuống miềng nam, đi ngang qua Xin, lên phía nam Ca-đe-Ba-nê -a, đi ngang qua Hết-rôn, lên hướng At-đa, vòng qua Cạt-ca, 
đi ngang về hướng At-nôn, đổ vào khe Ê-díp-tô, rồi giáp biển. Ay đó sẽ là giới hạn phía nam của các ngươi. 
Giới hạn về hướng đông là từ Biển mặn cho đến vàm sông Giô-đanh. Giới hạn phía bắc chạy từ phía biển nơi vàm sông Giô-đanh, 
đi lên Bết-Hốt-la, trải qua phía bắc Bết -A-ra-ba, và chạy đến hòn đá Bô-han con trai của Ru-bên. 
Đoạn, giới hạn này đi lên về hướng Đê-bia, từ trũng A-cô chạy tới hướng bắc về phía Ghinh-ganh, đối ngang dốc A-đu-mim tại phía nam khe; rồi trải qua gần mé nước En-Sê-mết, và giáp En-Rô-ghên. 
Từ đó giới hạn đi lên ngang qua trũng con trai Hi-nôm, về cạnh nam của Giê-hu, tức là Giê-ru-sa-lem. Kế đó, nó chạy lên cho đến chót núi nằm ngang trũng Hi-nôm về hướng tây, ở đầu phía bắc trũng Rê-pha-im. 
Giới hạn này chạy từ chót núi đến suối nước Nép-thô-ách, và ăn về hướng các thành của núi Ep-rôn; rồi đi luôn đến Ba-la, là Ki-ri-át-Giê -a-rim. 
Nó vòng từ Ba-la qua hướng tây về lối núi Sê -i-rơ, rồi theo hướng bắc đi ngang qua phía núi Giê-ra-im, tức là Kê-sa-lôn; kế chạy xuống đến Bết-Sê-mết và qua Thim-na. 
Từ đó giới hạn này cứ đi theo phía bắc Ec-rôn; đoạn băng qua hướng Siếc-rôn, trải qua núi Ba-la, ăn thẳng đến Giáp-nê-ên, rồi giáp biển. 
Còn giới hạn phía tây, ấy là biển lớn. Đó là giới hạn về bốn phía của người Giu-đa, tùy theo những họ hàng của chúng. 
Người ta ban cho ca-lép, con trai Giê-phu-nê, một phần ở giữa người Giu-đa, tùy theo mạng lịnh của Đức Giê-hô-va phán cho Giô-suê, là thành của A-ra-ba, cha A-nác. Ay là thành Hếp-rôn. 
Ca-lép bèn đuổi đi ba con trai của A-nác, là Sê-sai, A-hi-nam, và Tha-mai. 
Từ đó người đi lên đánh dân thành Đê-bia; thuở xưa tên Đê-bia là Ki-ri-át-Sê-phe. 
Ca-lép nói rằng: Ta sẽ gả con gái ta là Ac-sa, làm vợ cho người nào đánh và chiếm lấy Ki-ri-át-Sê-phe. 
Ot-ni-ên, con trai của Kê-na, cháu Ca-lép, bèn chiếm được thành; Ca-lép gả Ac-sa, con gái mình, cho người làm vợ. 
Vả, xảy khi nàng vào nhà Ot-ni-ên, có thúc giục người xin cha mình một sở ruộng. Nàng leo xuống lừa; Ca-lép hỏi rằng: Con muốn chi? 
Nàng thưa rằng: Xin cha ban một của phước cho con; vì cha lập con nơi đất miền nam, nên hãy cho con mấy suối nước. Người bèn ban cho nàng các suối ở trên và ở dưới. 
Đó là sản nghiệp của chi phái Giu-đa, tùy theo những họ hàng của chúng. 
Các thành ở đầu cùng chi phái Giu-đa, về phía ranh Ê-đôm tại miền nam là: Cáp-sê-ên, Ê-đe, Gia-gua, 
Ki-na, Đi-mô-na, A-đe -a-đa, 
Kê-đe, Hát-so, Gít-nan, 
Xíp, Tê-lem, Bê -a-lốt, 
Hát-so-Ha-đa-tha, Kê-ri-giốt-Hết-rôn, tức là Hát-so; 
A-mam, Sê-ma, Mô-la-đa, 
Hát-sa-ga-đa, Hết-môn, Bết-Pha-lê, 
Hát-sa-Su-anh, Bê -e-Sê-ba, Bi-sốt-gia, 
Ba-la, Y-dim, Ê-xem, 
Ê-thô-lát, Kê-sinh, Họt-ma, 
Xiếc-lát, Mát-ma-na, San-sa-na, 
Lê-ba-ốt, Si-lim, S-in, và Rim-môn: hết thảy là hai mươi chín thành với các làng của nó. 
Trong đồng bằng là: Et-tha-ôn, Xô-rê -a. At-na 
Xa-nô-ách, En-ga-nim, Tháp-bu-ách, Ê-nam, 
Giạt-mút, A-đu-lam, Sô-cô, A-xê-ca 
Sa -a-ra-im, A-đi-tha-im, Ghê-đê-ra, và Ghê-đê-rô-tha-im: hết thảy là mười bốn thành với các làng của nó. 
Lại có Xê-nan, Ha-đa-sa, Mích-đanh-Gát, 
Đi-lan, Mít-bê, Giốc-thê-ên, 
La-ki, Bốt-cát, Ec-lôn, 
Cáp-bôn, Lách-ma, Kít-lít, 
Ghê-đê-rốt, Bết-Đa-gôn, Na -a-ma, và Ma-kê-đa: hết thảy là mười sáu thành với các làng của nó; 
Líp-na, Ê-the, A-san, 
Díp-tách, At-na, Nết-síp, 
Kê -i-la, Ac-xíp, và Ma-rê-sa: hết thảy là chín thành với các làng của nó; 
Ec-rôn, với các thành địa hạt và làng của nó; 
các thành ở gần Ach-đốt cùng các làng của nó, từ Ec-rôn về hướng tây; 
Ach-đốt, các thành địa hạt, cùng các làng của nó; Ga-xa, các thành địa hạt, cùng các làng của nó, cho đến khe Ê-díp-tô, và biển lớn dùng làm giới hạn. 
Trong miền núi là: Sa-mia, Giạt-thia, Sô-cô, 
Đa-na, Ki-ri-át-Sa-na, tức là Đê-bia, 
A-náp, Et-thê-mô, A-nim, 
Gô-sen, Hô-lôn, Ghi-lô: hết thảy mười một thành cùng các làng của nó; 
A-ráp, Ru-ma, Ê-sê-an, 
Gia-num, Bết-Tháp-bu-ách, A-phê-ca, 
Hum-ta, Ki-ri-át -A-ra-ba, tức là Hếp-rôn và Si-ô: hết thảy chín thành với các làng của nó; 
Ma-ôn, Cạt-mên, Xíp, Giu-ta, 
Gít-rê-ên, Giốc-đê-am, Xa-nô-ách; 
Ca-in, Ghi-bê -a, và Thim-na: hết thảy mười thành với các làng của nó; 
Hanh-hun, Bết-Xu-rơ, Ghê-đô, 
Ma -a-rát, Bết -A-nốt và En-thê-côn: hết thảy sáu thành với cáng làng của nó; 
Ki-ri-át-Ba-anh, tức là Ki-ri-át-Giê -a-rim, và Ráp-ba: hết thảy hai thành với các làng của nó; 
trong đồng vắng có Bết -A-ra-ba, Mi-đin, Sê-ca-ca; 
Níp-san, Yết-Ha-mê-lách, và En-ghê-đi: hết thảy sáu thành với các làng của nó. 
Vả, người Giu-đa không đuổi được dân Giê-bu-sít ở tại Giê-ru-sa-lem; nên dân Giê-bu-sít còn ở chung cùng người Giu-đa tại Giê-ru-sa-lem cho đến ngày nay. 

And the lot for the tribe of the sons of Judah, for their families, is unto the border of Edom; the wilderness of Zin southward, at the extremity of the south; 
and to them the south border is at the extremity of the salt sea, from the bay which is looking southward; 
and it hath gone out unto the south to Maaleh-Akrabbim, and passed over to Zin, and gone up on the south to Kadesh-Barnea, and passed over [to] Hezron, and gone up to Adar, and turned round to Karkaa, 
and passed over [to] Azmon, and gone out [at] the brook of Egypt, and the outgoings of the border have been at the sea; this is to you the south border. 
And the east border [is] the salt sea, unto the extremity of the Jordan, and the border at the north quarter [is] from the bay of the sea, at the extremity of the Jordan; 
and the border hath gone up [to] Beth-Hoglah, and passed over on the north of Beth-Arabah, and the border hath gone up [to] the stone of Bohan son of Reuben: 
and the border hath gone up towards Debir from the valley of Achor, and northward looking unto Gilgal, which [is] over-against the ascent of Adummim, which [is] on the south of the brook, and the border hath passed over unto the waters of En-Shemesh, and its outgoings have been unto En-Rogel; 
and the border hath gone up the valley of the son of Hinnom, unto the side of the Jebusite on the south (it [is] Jerusalem), and the border hath gone up unto the top of the hill-country which [is] on the front of the valley of Hinnom westward, which [is] in the extremity of the valley of the Rephaim northward; 
and the border hath been marked out, from the top of the hill-country unto the fountain of the waters of Nephtoah, and hath gone out unto the cities of mount Ephron, and the border hath been marked out [to] Baalah, (it [is] Kirjath-Jearim); 
and the border hath gone round from Baalah westward, unto mount Seir, and passed over unto the side of mount Jearim (it [is] Chesalon), on the north, and gone down [to] Beth-Shemesh, and passed over to Timnah; 
and the border hath gone out unto the side of Ekron northward, and the border hath been marked out [to] Shicron, and hath passed over to mount Baalah, and gone out [to] Jabneel; and the outgoings of the border have been at the sea. 
And the west border [is] to the great sea, and [its] border; this [is] the border of the sons of Judah round about for their families. 
And to Caleb son of Jephunneh hath he given a portion in the midst of the sons of Judah, according to the command of Jehovah to Joshua, [even] the city of Arba, father of Anak -- it [is] Hebron. 
And Caleb is dispossessing thence the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, children of Anak, 
and he goeth up thence unto the inhabitants of Debir; and the name of Debir formerly is Kirjath-Sepher. 
And Caleb saith, `He who smiteth Kirjath-Sephar, and hath captured it -- I have given to him Achsah my daughter for a wife.` 
And Othniel son of Kenaz, brother of Caleb, doth capture it, and he giveth to him Achsah his daughter for a wife. 
And it cometh to pass, in her coming in, that she persuadeth him to ask from her father a field, and she lighteth from off the ass, and Caleb saith to her, `What -- to thee?` 
And she saith, `Give to me a blessing; when the land of the south thou hast given me, then thou hast given to me springs of waters;` and he giveth to her the upper springs and the lower springs. 
This [is] the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Judah, for their families. 
And the cities at the extremity of the tribe of the sons of Judah are unto the border of Edom in the south, Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur, 
and Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah, 
and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Ithnan, 
Ziph, and Telem, and Bealoth, 
and Hazor, Hadattah, and Kerioth, Hezron, (it [is] Hazor,) 
Amam, and Shema, and Moladah, 
and Hazar-Gaddah, and Heshmon, and Beth-Palet, 
and Hazar-Shual, and Beer-Sheba, and Bizjothjah, 
Baalah, and Iim, and Azem, 
And Eltolad, and Chesil, and Hormah, 
and Ziklag, and Madmannah, and Sansannah, 
and Lebaoth, and Shilhim, and Ain, and Rimmon; all the cities [are] twenty and nine, and their villages. 
In the low country: Eshtaol, and Zoreah, and Ashnah, 
and Zanoah, and En-Gannim, Tappuah, and Enam, 
Jarmuth, and Adullam, Socoh, and Azekah, 
and Sharaim, and Adithaim, and Gederah, and Gederothaim; fourteen cities and their villages. 
Zenan, and Hadashah, and Migdal-Gad, 
and Dilean, and Mizpeh, and Joktheel, 
Lachish, and Bozkath, and Eglon, 
and Cabbon, and Lahmam, and Kithlish, 
and Gederoth, Beth-Dagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah; sixteen cities and their villages. 
Libnah, and Ether, and Ashan, 
and Jiphtah, and Ashnah, and Nezib, 
and Keilah, and Achzib, and Mareshah; nine cities and their villages. 
Ekron and its towns and its villages, 
from Ekron and westward, all that [are] by the side of Ashdod, and their villages. 
Ashdod, its towns and its villages, Gaza, its towns and its villages, unto the brook of Egypt, and the great sea, and [its] border. 
And in the hill-country: Shamir, and Jattir, and Socoh, 
and Dannah, and Kirjath-Sannah (it [is] Debir) 
and Anab, and Eshtemoh, and Anim, 
and Goshen, and Holon, and Giloh; eleven cities and their villages. 
Arab, and Dumah, and Eshean, 
and Janum, and Beth-Tappuah, and Aphekah, 
and Humtah, and Kirjath-Arba (it [is] Hebron), and Zior; nine cities and their villages. 
Maon, Carmel, and Ziph, and Juttah, 
and Jezreel, and Jokdeam, and Zanoah, 
Cain, Gibeah, and Timnah; ten cities and their villages. 
Halhul, Beth-Zur, and Gedor, 
and Maarath, and Beth-Anoth, and Eltekon; six cities and their villages. 
Kirjath-Baal (it [is] Kirjath-Jearim), and Rabbah; two cities and their villages. 
In the wilderness: Beth-Arabah, Middin, and Secacah, 
and Nibshan, and the city of Salt, and En-Gedi; six cities and their villages. 
As to the Jebusites, inhabitants of Jerusalem, the sons of Judah have not been able to dispossess them, and the Jebusite dwelleth with the sons of Judah in Jerusalem unto this day.
