1 Yahweh said to Moses, "Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh, for by a strong hand he shall let them go, and by a strong hand he shall drive them out of his land."

2 God spoke to Moses, and said to him, "I am Yahweh. 3 I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty; but by my name Yahweh I was not known to them. 4 I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their travels, in which they lived as aliens. 5 Moreover I have heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage, and I have remembered my covenant. 6 Therefore tell the children of Israel, ‘I am Yahweh, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm, and with great judgments. 7 I will take you to myself for a people. I will be your God; and you shall know that I am Yahweh your God, who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. 8 I will bring you into the land which I swore to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it to you for a heritage: I am Yahweh.’"

9 Moses spoke so to the children of Israel, but they didn’t listen to Moses for anguish of spirit, and for cruel bondage.

10 Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 11 "Go in, speak to Pharaoh king of Egypt, that he let the children of Israel go out of his land."

12 Moses spoke before Yahweh, saying, "Behold, the children of Israel haven’t listened to me. How then shall Pharaoh listen to me, when I have uncircumcised lips?" 13 Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, and gave them a command to the children of Israel, and to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt.

14 These are the heads of their fathers’ houses. The sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel: Hanoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi; these are the families of Reuben. 15 The sons of Simeon: Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanite woman; these are the families of Simeon. 16 These are the names of the sons of Levi according to their generations: Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari; and the years of the life of Levi were one hundred thirty-seven years. 17 The sons of Gershon: Libni and Shimei, according to their families. 18 The sons of Kohath: Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel; and the years of the life of Kohath were one hundred thirty-three years. 19 The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to their generations. 20 Amram took Jochebed his father’s sister to himself as wife; and she bore him Aaron and Moses. The years of the life of Amram were one hundred thirty-seven years. 21 The sons of Izhar: Korah, and Nepheg, and Zichri. 22 The sons of Uzziel: Mishael, Elzaphan, and Sithri. 23 Aaron took Elisheba, the daughter of Amminadab, the sister of Nahshon, as his wife; and she bore him Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar. 24 The sons of Korah: Assir, Elkanah, and Abiasaph; these are the families of the Korahites. 25 Eleazar Aaron’s son took one of the daughters of Putiel as his wife; and she bore him Phinehas. These are the heads of the fathers’ houses of the Levites according to their families. 26 These are that Aaron and Moses to whom Yahweh said, "Bring out the children of Israel from the land of Egypt according to their armies." 27 These are those who spoke to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring out the children of Israel from Egypt. These are that Moses and Aaron.

28 On the day when Yahweh spoke to Moses in the land of Egypt, 29 Yahweh said to Moses, "I am Yahweh. Tell Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I tell you."

30 Moses said before Yahweh, "Behold, I am of uncircumcised lips, and how shall Pharaoh listen to me?"

1 Então o Senhor disse a Moisés:

— Agora você verá o que vou fazer a Faraó, pois, por mão poderosa, os deixará ir e, por mão poderosa, os expulsará da sua terra.

2 Deus falou a Moisés e lhe disse:

— Eu sou o Senhor. 3 Apareci a Abraão, a Isaque e a Jacó como o Deus Todo-Poderoso; mas pelo meu nome, O Senhor, não lhes fui conhecido. 4 Também estabeleci a minha aliança com eles, para dar-lhes a terra de Canaã, a terra em que viveram como estrangeiros. 5 Eu também ouvi os gemidos dos filhos de Israel, os quais os egípcios escravizam, e me lembrei da minha aliança. 6 Portanto, diga aos filhos de Israel: "Eu sou o Senhor. Vou tirá-los dos trabalhos pesados no Egito, vou livrá-los da escravidão, vou resgatar vocês com braço estendido e com grandes manifestações de juízo. 7 Eu os tomarei por meu povo e serei o seu Deus; e vocês saberão que eu sou o Senhor, seu Deus, que os tiro dos trabalhos pesados no Egito. 8 Eu os levarei para a terra que jurei dar a Abraão, a Isaque e a Jacó; darei essa terra a vocês como herança. Eu sou o Senhor."

9 Desse modo Moisés falou aos filhos de Israel, mas eles não deram ouvidos a Moisés, por causa da angústia de espírito e da dura escravidão.

10 O Senhor falou a Moisés, dizendo:

11 — Vá e diga a Faraó, rei do Egito, que deixe que os filhos de Israel saiam de sua terra.

12 Moisés, porém, respondeu ao Senhor, dizendo:

— Eis que os filhos de Israel não me têm ouvido; como, pois, me ouvirá Faraó? E não sei falar bem.

13 No entanto, o Senhor falou a Moisés e a Arão e lhes deu uma ordem para os filhos de Israel e para Faraó, rei do Egito: deveriam tirar os filhos de Israel da terra do Egito.

14 São estes os chefes das famílias: os filhos de Rúben, o primogênito de Israel: Enoque, Palu, Hezrom e Carmi; são estas as famílias de Rúben. 15 Os filhos de Simeão: Jemuel, Jamim, Oade, Jaquim, Zoar e Saul, filho de uma cananeia; são estas as famílias de Simeão. 16 São estes os nomes dos filhos de Levi, segundo as suas gerações: Gérson, Coate e Merari; e os anos da vida de Levi foram cento e trinta e sete. 17 Os filhos de Gérson: Libni e Simei, segundo as suas famílias. 18 Os filhos de Coate: Anrão, Isar, Hebrom e Uziel; e os anos da vida de Coate foram cento e trinta e três. 19 Os filhos de Merari: Mali e Musi; são estas as famílias de Levi, segundo as suas gerações.

20 Anrão tomou por mulher Joquebede, sua tia, e ela lhe deu à luz Arão e Moisés; e os anos da vida de Anrão foram cento e trinta e sete. 21 Os filhos de Isar: Corá, Nefegue e Zicri. 22 Os filhos de Uziel: Misael, Elzafã e Sitri. 23 Arão tomou por mulher Eliseba, filha de Aminadabe, irmã de Naassom; e ela lhe deu à luz Nadabe, Abiú, Eleazar e Itamar. 24 Os filhos de Corá: Assir, Elcana e Abiasafe; são estas as famílias dos coraítas. 25 Eleazar, filho de Arão, tomou por mulher, para si, uma das filhas de Putiel; e ela lhe deu à luz Fineias; são estes os chefes de suas casas, segundo as suas famílias.

26 São estes Arão e Moisés, aos quais o Senhor disse: "Tirem os filhos de Israel da terra do Egito, segundo os seus exércitos." 27 Foram eles que falaram a Faraó, rei do Egito, a fim de tirar do Egito os filhos de Israel; são estes Moisés e Arão.

28 No dia em que o Senhor falou a Moisés na terra do Egito, 29 o Senhor disse a Moisés:

— Eu sou o Senhor; diga a Faraó, rei do Egito, tudo o que eu digo a você.

30 Porém Moisés respondeu na presença do Senhor:

— Eu não sei falar bem. Como é que Faraó vai me ouvir?
