12 But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God’s children, to those who believe in his name:

19 For the creation waits with eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.

7 A righteous man walks in integrity.

Blessed are his children after him.

5 A fool despises his father’s correction,

but he who heeds reproof shows prudence.

1 In that hour the disciples came to Jesus, saying, "Who then is greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?"

2 Jesus called a little child to himself, and set him in the middle of them 3 and said, "Most certainly I tell you, unless you turn and become as little children, you will in no way enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. 4 Whoever therefore humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.

31 They said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household."

25 A foolish son brings grief to his father,

and bitterness to her who bore him.

8 My son, listen to your father’s instruction,

and don’t forsake your mother’s teaching;

9 for they will be a garland to grace your head,

and chains around your neck.

32 "Now therefore, my sons, listen to me,

for blessed are those who keep my ways.

33 Hear instruction, and be wise.

Don’t refuse it.

7 Whoever keeps the law is a wise son;

but he who is a companion of gluttons shames his father.

13 They were bringing to him little children, that he should touch them, but the disciples rebuked those who were bringing them. 14 But when Jesus saw it, he was moved with indignation and said to them, "Allow the little children to come to me! Don’t forbid them, for God’s Kingdom belongs to such as these.

15 Folly is bound up in the heart of a child;

the rod of discipline drives it far from him.

21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols.

24 One who spares the rod hates his son,

but one who loves him is careful to discipline him.

4 one who rules his own house well, having children in subjection with all reverence;

25 At that time, Jesus answered, "I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you hid these things from the wise and understanding, and revealed them to infants.

40 You shall keep his statutes and his commandments which I command you today, that it may go well with you and with your children after you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which Yahweh your God gives you for all time.

20 Children, obey your parents in all things, for this pleases the Lord.

5 You have forgotten the exhortation which reasons with you as with children,

"My son, don’t take lightly the chastening of the Lord,

nor faint when you are reproved by him;

6 for whom the Lord loves, he disciplines,

and chastises every son whom he receives."

7 It is for discipline that you endure. God deals with you as with children, for what son is there whom his father doesn’t discipline? 8 But if you are without discipline, of which all have been made partakers, then you are illegitimate, and not children. 9 Furthermore, we had the fathers of our flesh to chasten us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much rather be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live?

2 Beloved, now we are children of God. It is not yet revealed what we will be; but we know that when he is revealed, we will be like him, for we will see him just as he is. 3 Everyone who has this hope set on him purifies himself, even as he is pure.

1 A wise son listens to his father’s instruction,

but a scoffer doesn’t listen to rebuke.

16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God;

19 The living, the living, he shall praise you, as I do today.

The father shall make known your truth to the children.

6 Train up a child in the way he should go,

and when he is old he will not depart from it.

10 See that you don’t despise one of these little ones, for I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.

6 These words, which I command you today, shall be on your heart; 7 and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.

22 Flee from youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

1 My son, don’t forget my teaching,

but let your heart keep my commandments,

2 for they will add to you length of days,

years of life, and peace.

52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.

11 Even a child makes himself known by his doings,

whether his work is pure, and whether it is right.

4 You fathers, don’t provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

14 But Jesus said, "Allow the little children, and don’t forbid them to come to me; for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to ones like these."

26 He who robs his father and drives away his mother

is a son who causes shame and brings reproach.

13 All your children will be taught by Yahweh,

and your children’s peace will be great.

26 For you are all children of God, through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

3 Behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh.

The fruit of the womb is his reward.

9 How can a young man keep his way pure?

By living according to your word.

2 The things which you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit the same things to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.

7 and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.

11 All chastening seems for the present to be not joyous but grievous; yet afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

12 Then our sons will be like well-nurtured plants,

our daughters like pillars carved to adorn a palace.

1 My son, don’t forget my teaching,

but let your heart keep my commandments,

6 Children’s children are the crown of old men;

the glory of children is their parents.

12 for whom Yahweh loves, he corrects,

even as a father reproves the son in whom he delights.

4 I have no greater joy than this: to hear about my children walking in truth.

9 Blessed are the peacemakers,

for they shall be called children of God.

28 Observe and hear all these words which I command you, that it may go well with you and with your children after you forever, when you do that which is good and right in Yahweh your God’s eyes.

1 The child Samuel ministered to Yahweh before Eli. Yahweh’s word was rare in those days. There were not many visions, then.

15 The rod of correction gives wisdom,

but a child left to himself causes shame to his mother.

21 Fathers, don’t provoke your children, so that they won’t be discouraged.

11 Come, you children, listen to me.

I will teach you the fear of Yahweh.

1 Better is the poor who walks in his integrity

than he who is perverse in his lips and is a fool.

3 and said, "Most certainly I tell you, unless you turn and become as little children, you will in no way enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. 4 Whoever therefore humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven. 5 Whoever receives one such little child in my name receives me,

15 For you didn’t receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, "Abba! Father!"

1 See how great a love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God! For this cause the world doesn’t know us, because it didn’t know him.

14 I looked, and rose up, and said to the nobles, to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, "Don’t be afraid of them! Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your houses."

20 A wise son makes a father glad,

but a foolish man despises his mother.

12 I write to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name’s sake.

22 Listen to your father who gave you life,

and don’t despise your mother when she is old.

23 Buy the truth, and don’t sell it.

Get wisdom, discipline, and understanding.

8 But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God.

1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 "Honor your father and mother," which is the first commandment with a promise: 3 "that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth."

4 He taught me, and said to me:

"Let your heart retain my words.

Keep my commandments, and live.

5 Get wisdom.

Get understanding.

Don’t forget, and don’t deviate from the words of my mouth.

15 "Can a woman forget her nursing child,

that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb?

Yes, these may forget,

yet I will not forget you!

16 Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands.

Your walls are continually before me.

1 Be therefore imitators of God, as beloved children.

13 Don’t withhold correction from a child.

If you punish him with the rod, he will not die.

46 He said to them, "Set your heart to all the words which I testify to you today, which you shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law. 47 For it is no vain thing for you, because it is your life, and through this thing you shall prolong your days in the land, where you go over the Jordan to possess it."

36 He took a little child and set him in the middle of them. Taking him in his arms, he said to them, 37 "Whoever receives one such little child in my name receives me; and whoever receives me, doesn’t receive me, but him who sent me."

15 So when they had eaten their breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love me more than these?"

He said to him, "Yes, Lord; you know that I have affection for you."

He said to him, "Feed my lambs."
