7all things it beareth, all it believeth, all it hopeth, all it endureth.

13and now there doth remain faith, hope, love — these three; and the greatest of these [is] love.

7And, now, what have I expected? O Lord, my hope — it [is] of Thee.

5I hoped [for] Jehovah — hoped hath my soul, And for His word I have waited.

7Israel doth wait on Jehovah, For with Jehovah [is] kindness, And abundant with Him [is] redemption.

2through whom also we have the access by the faith into this grace in which we have stood, and we boast on the hope of the glory of God.

4and the endurance, experience; and the experience, hope;

5and the hope doth not make ashamed, because the love of God hath been poured forth in our hearts through the Holy Spirit that hath been given to us.

13If I wait — Sheol [is] my house, In darkness I have spread out my couch.

15And where [is] now my hope? Yea, my hope, who doth behold it?

18For, is there a posterity? Then thy hope is not cut off.

32Its latter end — as a serpent it biteth, And as a basilisk it stingeth.

35‘They smote me, I have not been sick, They beat me, I have not known. When I awake — I seek it yet again!’

7Be patient, then, brethren, till the presence of the Lord; lo, the husbandman doth expect the precious fruit of the earth, being patient for it, till he may receive rain — early and latter;

11lo, we call happy those who are enduring; the endurance of Job ye heard of, and the end of the Lord ye have seen, that very compassionate is the Lord, and pitying.

6Is not thy reverence thy confidence? Thy hope — the perfection of thy ways?

8As I have seen — ploughers of iniquity, And sowers of misery, reap it!

18Lo, in His servants He putteth no credence, Nor in His messengers setteth praise.’

3for what doth the writing say? ‘And Abraham did believe God, and it was reckoned to him — to righteousness;’

18Who, against hope in hope did believe, for his becoming father of many nations according to that spoken: ‘So shall thy seed be;’

24but also on ours, to whom it is about to be reckoned — to us believing on Him who did raise up Jesus our Lord out of the dead,

8O Hope of Israel — its saviour in time of trouble, Why art Thou as a sojourner in the land? And as a traveller turned aside to lodge?

21Do not despise, for Thy name’s sake, Dishonour not the throne of Thine honour, Remember, break not Thy covenant with us.

22Are there among the vanities of the nations any causing rain? And do the heavens give showers? Art not Thou He, O Jehovah our God? And we wait for thee, for Thou — Thou hast done all these!

3unceasingly remembering of you the work of the faith, and the labour of the love, and the endurance of the hope, of our Lord Jesus Christ, in the presence of our God and Father,

6and ye — ye did become imitators of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much tribulation, with joy of the Holy Spirit,

10and to wait for His Son from the heavens, whom He did raise out of the dead — Jesus, who is rescuing us from the anger that is coming.

11This one — let him reckon thus: that such as we are in word, through letters, being absent, such also, being present, [we are] in deed.

15not boasting of the things not measured, in other men’s labours, and having hope — your faith increasing — in you to be enlarged, according to our line — into abundance,

16in the [places] beyond you to proclaim good news, not in another’s line in regard to the things made ready, to boast;

3forbidding to marry — to abstain from meats that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those believing and acknowledging the truth,

10for for this we both labour and are reproached, because we hope on the living God, who is Saviour of all men — especially of those believing.

12let no one despise thy youth, but a pattern become thou of those believing in word, in behaviour, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity;

3O My mountain in the field — thy strength, All thy treasures — for a prey I give, Thy high places for sin in all thy borders.

9Crooked [is] the heart above all things, And it [is] incurable — who doth know it?

13The hope of Israel [is] Jehovah, All forsaking Thee are ashamed, And ‘My apostates’ in the earth are written, For they have forsaken Jehovah, A fountain of living waters.

18‘Lo, My servant, whom I did choose, My beloved, in whom My soul did delight, I will put My Spirit upon him, and judgment to the nations he shall declare,

21and in his name shall nations hope.’

34‘Brood of vipers! how are ye able to speak good things — being evil? for out of the abundance of the heart doth the mouth speak.

26because of this was my heart cheered, and my tongue was glad, and yet — my flesh also shall rest on hope,

32‘This Jesus did God raise up, of which we are all witnesses;

39for to you is the promise, and to your children, and to all those afar off, as many as the Lord our God shall call.’

2From the fruit of the mouth a man eateth good, And the soul of the treacherous — violence.

3Whoso is keeping his mouth, is keeping his soul, Whoso is opening wide his lips — ruin to him!

12Hope prolonged is making the heart sick, And a tree of life [is] the coming desire.

4though I also have [cause of] trust in flesh. If any other one doth think to have trust in flesh, I more;

17become followers together of me, brethren, and observe those thus walking, according as ye have us — a pattern;

20For our citizenship is in the heavens, whence also a Saviour we await — the Lord Jesus Christ —

13and the messenger said unto him, ‘Fear not, Zacharias, for thy supplication was heard, and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear a son to thee, and thou shalt call his name John,

45and happy [is] she who did believe, for there shall be a completion to the things spoken to her from the Lord.’

79To give light to those sitting in darkness and death-shade, To guide our feet to a way of peace.’

7that the proof of your faith — much more precious than of gold that is perishing, and through fire being approved — may be found to praise, and honour, and glory, in the revelation of Jesus Christ,

9receiving the end of your faith — salvation of souls;

23being begotten again, not out of seed corruptible, but incorruptible, through a word of God — living and remaining — to the age;
