7 The fear of the  Lord

is the beginning of knowledge;  *

fools despise wisdom and discipline.  *

10 "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,  *

and the knowledge of the Holy One  * is understanding.

33 The fear of the Lord is what wisdom teaches,

and humility comes before honor.  *

16 Better a little with the fear of the  Lord

than great treasure with turmoil.  *

13 To fear the Lord is to hate evil.  *

I hate arrogant pride, evil conduct,

and perverse speech.

4 Humility, the fear of the  Lord,

results in wealth, honor, and life.  *

7 Don’t be wise in your own eyes;  *

fear the Lord and turn away from evil.  *

8 This will be healing for your body  *,*

and strengthening for your bones.  *

30 Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting,  *

but a woman who fears the  Lord will be praised.

13 When all has been heard, the conclusion of the matter is this: fear God  * and keep his commands, because this is for all  * humanity.  *

10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;  *

all who follow his instructions  * have good insight.  *

His praise endures forever.  *

1 Hallelujah!  *

Happy is the person who fears the  Lord,

taking great delight in his commands.  *

1 How happy is everyone who fears the  Lord,

who walks in his ways!  *

18 But look, the  Lord keeps his eye on those who fear him —

those who depend on his faithful love  *

7 God will bless us,

and all the ends of the earth will fear him.  *

2 But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings,  * and you will go out and playfully jump like calves from the stall.  *

12 "And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you except to fear  * the Lord your God by walking in all his ways, to love him, and to worship the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul?  *13 Keep the Lord’s commands and statutes I am giving you today, for your own good.  *

4 You must follow the Lord your God and fear him. You must keep his commands and listen to him; you must worship him and remain faithful  * to him.  *

21 Since the midwives feared God, he gave them families.  *

1 So then, dear friends, since we have these promises,  * let us cleanse ourselves from every impurity of the flesh and spirit,  * bringing holiness to completion  * in the fear of God.  *

7 Pay your obligations  * to everyone: taxes to those you owe taxes,  * tolls to those you owe tolls, respect to those you owe respect,  * and honor to those you owe honor.

14 A despairing man should receive loyalty from his friends,  *,*

even if he abandons the fear of the Almighty.
