O que a Bíblia ensina sobre o agradecimento a Deus

Agradecer a Deus é reconhecer que a vida, o sustento e a salvação vêm dele, não do nosso próprio mérito. Na Bíblia, a gratidão não é um sentimento passageiro que depende de dias fáceis, mas uma decisão de fé fundamentada em quem Deus é e na fidelidade que ele demonstra.

Quando o crente cultiva ações de graças, ele desloca o foco dos problemas imediatos para o caráter do Criador, cuja misericórdia não tem fim.

1 Praise you2f the LORD-Yehōvah [Messiah Pre-Incarnate]. O give thanks unto the LORD-Yehōvah [Messiah Pre-Incarnate]; for [he is] good: for his mercy [endures] forever.(Tehillim - Psalms 106:1)

4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, [and] into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, [and] bless his name.(Tehillim - Psalms 100:4)

2 Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with Tehillim [Songs of Praise].(Tehillim - Psalms 95:2)

Gratidão em momentos de dificuldade e ansiedade

A Bíblia não exige fingir que a dor não existe. O convite bíblico é levar as aflições a Deus em oração, acompanhadas da lembrança do cuidado que ele já manifestou no passado.

Apresentar pedidos "com ações de graças" protege a mente do desespero: ao recordar o socorro anterior, o coração encontra forças para confiar no auxílio presente.

6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God-The Father.(Philippians 4:6)

7 The LORD-Yehōvah [Messiah Pre-Incarnate] [is] my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoices; and with my song will I praise him.(Tehillim - Psalms 28:7)

30 I will praise the name of God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered] with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.(Tehillim - Psalms 69:30)

A gratidão como prática diária

Agradecer não se resume a momentos formais de culto. A Escritura orienta que cada palavra dita, cada tarefa profissional e cada refeição compartilhada sejam vividas em espírito de reconhecimento ao Pai.

O próprio Jesus, antes de alimentar a multidão no deserto, deu graças pelo pouco que tinha em mãos antes da multiplicação dos alimentos.

17 And whatsoever you2f do in word or deed, [do] all in the name of the Lord - Kurios [he to whom a person belongs] Yeshua [God is Salvation], giving thanks to God-The Father and the Father by him.(Colossians 3:17)

Agradecer a Deus pelas pessoas ao redor

Nas cartas do Novo Testamento, a gratidão a Deus frequentemente se manifesta na memória dos irmãos na fé. Reconhecer o valor, a perseverança e o testemunho das pessoas que caminham conosco é uma das formas mais concretas de glorificar a Deus.

Vitória e generosidade geradas pela gratidão

O maior motivo de louvor cristão é a vitória final sobre o pecado e a morte concedida por meio de Jesus Cristo. Essa certeza liberta a pessoa do medo e transforma o agradecimento interior em generosidade prática, partilhando com outros aquilo que Deus providenciou.
