20 As he considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. "Joseph, son of David," the angel said, "do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit.

5 Then the angel spoke to the women. "Don’t be afraid!" he said. "I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6 He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying.

53 Don’t you realize that I could ask my Father for thousands*of angels to protect us, and he would send them instantly?

30 "Don’t be afraid, Mary," the angel told her, "for you have found favor with God! 31 You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus.

10 but the angel reassured them. "Don’t be afraid!" he said. "I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people.

14 "Glory to God in highest heaven,

and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased."

10 In the same way, there is joy in the presence of God’s angels when even one sinner repents."

10 As they strained to see him rising into heaven, two white-robed men suddenly stood among them. 11 "Men of Galilee," they said, "why are you standing here staring into heaven? Jesus has been taken from you into heaven, but someday he will return from heaven in the same way you saw him go!"

1 Keep on loving each other as brothers and sisters.*2 Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it!

1 If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

16 Without question, this is the great mystery of our faith*:

Christ* was revealed in a human body

and vindicated by the Spirit.*

He was seen by angels

and announced to the nations.

He was believed in throughout the world

and taken to heaven in glory.

16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died* will rise from their graves. 17 Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever.

5 All who are victorious will be clothed in white. I will never erase their names from the Book of Life, but I will announce before my Father and his angels that they are mine.

38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,* neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
