16 *All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, *and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 *that the man of God may be complete, *thoroughly equipped for every good work.

15 and that from childhood you have known *the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

20 knowing this first, that *no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, 21 for *prophecy never came by the will of man, *but holy men of God spoke astheywere moved by the Holy Spirit.

15 *Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. *Convince, *rebuke, *exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.

13 Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

12 For the word of God is*living and powerful, and *sharper than any *two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is *a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

35 *Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.

4 But He answered and said, "It is written, *‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ "

10 "For *as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven,

And do not return there,

But water the earth,

And make it bring forth and bud,

That it may give seed to the sower

And bread to the eater,

11 *So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;

It shall not return to Me void,

But it shall accomplish what I please,

And it shall *prosper inthething for which I sent it.

17 *Sanctify them by Your truth. *Your word is truth.

39 *You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and *these are they which testify of Me.

25 *But the word of the Lord endures forever."

*Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you.

9 How can a young man cleanse his way?

By taking heed according to Your word.

160 The entirety of Your word is truth,

And every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever.

11 These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and *searched the Scriptures daily tofindout whether these things were so.

2 Then Paul, as his custom was, *went in to them, and for three Sabbaths *reasoned with them from the Scriptures, 3 explaining and demonstrating *that the Christ had to suffer and rise again from the dead, and saying, "This Jesus whom I preach to you is the Christ."

30 So Philip ran to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, "Do you understand what you are reading?"

31 And he said, "How can I, unless someone guides me?" And he asked Philip to come up and sit with him. 32 The place in the Scripture which he read was this:

*"He was led as a sheep to the slaughter;

And as a lamb before its shearer is silent,

*So He opened not His mouth.

35 Then Philip opened his mouth, *and beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him.

10 For Ezra had prepared his heart to *seek the Law of the Lord, and to do it, and to *teach statutes and ordinances in Israel.

25 Then He said to them, "O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!26 *Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His *glory?"27 And beginning at *Moses and *all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.

18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, *"All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.19 *Go therefore and *make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,20 *teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am *with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.

7 *And as you go, preach, saying, *‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’

Elijah and the Widow

8 Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying,

1 The word of the Lord that came to *Joel the son of Pethuel.

The Permanence of God’s Covenant

19 And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying,

1 The burden of the word of the Lord to Israel by Malachi.

Disobedience Resulted in Captivity

8 Then the word of the Lord came to Zechariah, saying,

4 And the word of the Lord came to Isaiah, saying,

The Good News of Salvation

1 "The *Spirit of the Lord Godis upon Me,

Because the Lord*has anointed Me

To preach good tidings to the poor;

He has sent Me *to heal the brokenhearted,

To proclaim *liberty to the captives,

And the opening of the prison to thosewhoare bound;

2 *To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,

And *the day of vengeance of our God;

*To comfort all who mourn,

3 To console those who mourn in Zion,

*To give them beauty for ashes,

The oil of joy for mourning,

The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;

That they may be called trees of righteousness,

*The planting of the Lord, *that He may be glorified."

5 *Every word of God is pure;

*He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.

6 *Do not add to His words,

Lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar.

A Warning

18 For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: *If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; 19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, *God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Only One Gospel

6 I marvel that you are turning away so soon *from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, 7 *which is not another; but there are some *who trouble you and want to *pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if *we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you *than what you have received, let him be accursed.

15 and consider that*the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation—as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, 16 as also in all his *epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as theydo also the *rest of the Scriptures.

4 For *whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.

Israel Rejects the Gospel

14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear *without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written:

*"How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace,

Who bring glad tidings of good things!"

16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, *"Lord, who has believed our report?" 17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

The Just Live by Faith

16 For *I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for *it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, *for the Jew first and also for the Greek. 17 For *in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, *"The just shall live by faith."

12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but *the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.

13 These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 *But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

21 For since, in the *wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.

22 For *Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; 23 but we preach Christ crucified, *to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks *foolishness, 24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ *the power of God and *the wisdom of God.

17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, *not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect.

9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of *darkness into His marvelous light;
