33 I have told you this so that you will have peace by being united to me. The world will make you suffer. But be brave! I have defeated the world!"

9 Remember that I have commanded you to be determined and confident! Do not be afraid or discouraged, for I, the Lord your God, am with you wherever you go."

25 Then Joshua said to his officers, "Don’t be afraid or discouraged. Be determined and confident because this is what the Lord is going to do to all your enemies."

10 Do not be afraid—I am with you!

I am your God—let nothing terrify you!

I will make you strong and help you;

I will protect you and save you.

7 For the Spirit that God has given us does not make us timid; instead, his Spirit fills us with power, love, and self-control.

13 I have the strength to face all conditions by the power that Christ gives me.

24 Be strong, be courageous,

all you that hope in the Lord.

3 You answered me when I called to you;

with your strength you strengthened me.

1 The Lord is my light and my salvation;

I will fear no one.

The Lord protects me from all danger;

I will never be afraid.

27 Jesus spoke to them at once. "Courage!" he said. "It is I. Don’t be afraid!"

6 So we are always full of courage. We know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord’s home.

10 and on the following day, the twenty-third day of the seventh month, Solomon sent the people home. They were happy about all the blessings that the Lord had given to his people Israel, to David, and to Solomon.

7 "Be determined and confident, and don’t be afraid of the Assyrian emperor or of the army he is leading. We have more power on our side than he has on his.

10 If you are weak in a crisis, you are weak indeed.

25 So take courage, men! For I trust in God that it will be just as I was told.

6 And so I am sure that God, who began this good work in you, will carry it on until it is finished on the Day of Christ Jesus.

6 Be glad about this, even though it may now be necessary for you to be sad for a while because of the many kinds of trials you suffer.

39 The Lord saves the righteous

and protects them in times of trouble.

11 For I want very much to see you, in order to share a spiritual blessing with you to make you strong. 12 What I mean is that both you and I will be helped at the same time, you by my faith and I by yours.

16 For this reason we never become discouraged. Even though our physical being is gradually decaying, yet our spiritual being is renewed day after day.

11 And so encourage one another and help one another, just as you are now doing.

7 So, in all our trouble and suffering we have been encouraged about you, friends. It was your faith that encouraged us,

16 The people replied, "We would never leave the Lord to serve other gods! 17 The Lord our God brought our fathers and us out of slavery in Egypt, and we saw the miracles that he performed. He kept us safe wherever we went among all the nations through which we passed.

11 I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for.*
