A carne
A carne representa a natureza pecaminosa que milita contra o Espírito. A Bíblia ensina que os que pertencem a Cristo crucificaram a carne com suas paixões e desejos.
Carne versus Espírito
Os que são segundo a carne inclinam-se para as coisas da carne. O nascido da carne é carne; o nascido do Espírito é Espírito.
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those wholive according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.
Free from Indwelling Sin
Thereis therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man. But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were aroused by the law were at work in our members to bear fruit to death.
That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.
Vencer a carne
Andai no Espírito e não cumprireis os desejos da carne. Os que são de Cristo crucificaram a carne com suas paixões.
Walking in the Spirit
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
And those whoare Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.
For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.
Not Legalism but Christ
In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ,
Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."
Our Final Victory
Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption.
