Céu
O céu é a morada eterna de Deus e a esperança final do cristão. A Bíblia descreve o céu como lugar de glória, alegria e comunhão perfeita com o Criador.
A morada de Deus
Na casa de meu Pai há muitas moradas. Os céus declaram a glória de Deus — e um dia habitaremos lá eternamente.
2 In my Fathers house are many rooms. If it were not so, I would have told you. I am going to make a place ready for you.
Cidadania celestial
A nossa cidadania está nos céus. Ajuntai tesouros no céu, não na terra. O céu é a pátria do cristão.
20 But we belong to heaven. And we are waiting for the Saviour to come from heaven. He is the Lord Jesus Christ.
19 Do not keep many things for yourself on earth. Insects and rust will spoil them. People will get in and steal them.20 But keep things for yourself in heaven. Insects and rust will not spoil them there. People will not get in and steal them.
14 But Jesus said, Let the children come to me. Do not try to stop them. The kingdom of heaven belongs to people like them.
21 Jesus said, If you want to be all right, go and sell everything you have. Give the money to poor people. For this you will be rich in heaven. Then come and go with me.
35 The sky and the earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
2 Think about the things that are in heaven, not about things that are on earth.
Esperança eterna
Seremos arrebatados para encontrar o Senhor nos ares. Ainda não se manifestou o que havemos de ser — mas seremos semelhantes a Ele.
16 Then we who are still alive on earth will be caught up together with those who were dead. We will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And then we will be with the Lord forever!17 Therefore, comfort one another with these words.
2 My dear brothers, we are Gods children now. No one knows yet what we shall be like. But we know that when Jesus comes, we will be like him. We will see him as he really is.3 Everyone who has this hope about Christ makes his life holy. He makes his life holy and clean, just as Christ is holy.
18 The Lord will save me from every wrong thing. He will bring me safely into the kingdom of heaven. Praise him for ever and ever. Yes, he will!
50 Every day they were in the temple praising God.
9 When Jesus had said this, he went up. They watched him going. Then a cloud hid him, and they did not see him any more.
12 So use everything that God has given you, that you can fight when the bad time comes. You will need to do everything you can do to stand!
7 When we were born, we brought nothing into this world, and when we die, we can take nothing out of the world.8 If we have food and clothes, that should be enough.
