41 Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added tothem.42 *And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. 43 Then fear came upon every soul, and *many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. 44 Now all who believed were together, and *had all things in common, 45 and sold their possessions and goods, and *divided them among all, as anyone had need.

46 *So continuing daily with one accord *in the temple, and *breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And *the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.

24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 *not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting oneanother, and *so much the more as you see *the Day approaching.

Blessed Unity of the People of God

1 Behold, how good and how pleasant itis

For *brethren to dwell together in unity!

2 Itis like the precious oil upon the head,

Running down on the beard,

The beard of Aaron,

Running down on the edge of his garments.

3 Itis like the dew of *Hermon,

Descending upon the mountains of Zion;

For *there the Lord commanded the blessing—

Life forevermore.

14 We took sweet counsel together,

And*walked to the house of God in the throng.

The Value of a Friend

9 Two are better than one,

Because they have a good reward for their labor.

10 For if they fall, one will lift up his companion.

But woe to him whois alone when he falls,

For hehas no one to help him up.

11 Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm;

But how can one be warm alone?

12 Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him.

And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

The Enduring Word

22 Since you *have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere *love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart,

9 *Be hospitable to one another *without grumbling.

10 *Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, *in honor giving preference to one another;

Unity Through Humility

1 Therefore if thereis any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any *affection and mercy, 2 *fulfill my joy *by being like-minded, having the same love, being of *one accord, of one mind.

16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another *in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

32 And *be kind to one another, tenderhearted, *forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

13 For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only *do not use liberty as an *opportunity for the flesh, but *through love serve one another.

11 Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.

6 *If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we *walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and *the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

Greetings and Benediction

11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Become complete. *Be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love *and peace will be with you.

34 *A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
