Corpo de Cristo
A Igreja é o Corpo de Cristo — organismo vivo onde cada membro tem função única e indispensável. Cristo é a cabeça; nós somos seus membros.
Um corpo, muitos membros
Assim como o corpo é um e tem muitos membros, assim é Cristo. Nós somos o corpo de Cristo e individualmente seus membros.
12 For, even as the body is one, and has many members, and all the members of the one body, being many, are one body, so also is the Christ,
27 and you are the body of Christ, and members in particular.
15 Have you not known that your bodies are members of Christ? having taken, then, the members of the Christ, shall I make them members of an harlot? let it be not!
4 for as in one body we have many members, and all the members have not the same office,5 so we, the many, one body are in Christ, and members each one of one another.
4 one body and one Spirit, according as also you were called in one hope of your calling;
16 from whom the whole body, being fitly joined together and united, through the supply of every joint, according to the working in the measure of each single part, the increase of the body does make for the building up of itself in love.
Cristo, a cabeça
Ele é a cabeça do corpo, que é a igreja. O corpo cresce e se edifica em amor quando cada parte faz o seu trabalho.
18 And himself is the head of the body -- the assembly -- who is a beginning, a first-born out of the dead, that he might become in all things -- himself -- first,
24 I now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and do fill up the things lacking of the tribulations of the Christ in my flesh for his body, which is the assembly,
15 and let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body, and become thankful.
29 for no one ever his own flesh did hate, but does nourish and cherish it, as also the Lord -- the assembly,30 because members we are of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones;
