Despedida
And when he had said these things, he knelt down and prayed with them all. Then they all wept freely, and fell on Paul’s neck and kissed him, sorrowing most of all for the words which he spoke, that they would see his face no more. And they accompanied him to the ship.
Journeys in Greece
After the uproar had ceased, Paul called the disciples to himself, embraced them, and departed to go to Macedonia.
And after they had stayed there for a time, they were sent back with greetings from the brethren to the apostles.
Longing to See Them
But we, brethren, having been taken away from you for a short time in presence, not in heart, endeavored more eagerly to see your face with great desire.
For God is my witness, how greatly I long for you all with the affection of Jesus Christ.
Amizades profundas
Davi e Jônatas se despediram com lágrimas e pacto de amizade. Rute se apegou a Noemi com lealdade inabalável.
As soon as the lad had gone, David arose from aplace toward the south, fell on his face to the ground, and bowed down three times. And they kissed one another; and they wept together, but David more so. Then Jonathan said to David, "Go in peace, since we have both sworn in the name of the Lord, saying, ‘May the Lord be between you and me, and between your descendants and my descendants, forever.’ " So he arose and departed, and Jonathan went into the city.

And Naomi said to her two daughters-in-law, "Go, return each to her mother’s house. The Lord deal kindly with you, as you have dealt with the dead and with me. The Lord grant that you may find rest, each in the house of her husband."
So she kissed them, and they lifted up their voices and wept. And they said to her, "Surely we will return with you to your people."
But Naomi said, "Turn back, my daughters; why will you go with me? Are there still sons in my womb, that they may be your husbands? Turn back, my daughters, go—for I am too old to have a husband. If I should say I have hope, if I should have a husband tonight and should also bear sons, would you wait for them till they were grown? Would you restrain yourselves from having husbands? No, my daughters; for it grieves me very much for your sakes that the hand of the Lord has gone out against me!"
Then they lifted up their voices and wept again; and Orpah kissed her mother-in-law, but Ruth clung to her.

Then Moses let his father-in-law depart, and he went his way to his own land.

The Whole Armor of God
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
So Joshua blessed them and sent them away, and they went to their tents.

But Jesus said to him, "No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God."
And he left the oxen and ran after Elijah, and said, "Please let me kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow you."
And he said to him, "Go back again, for what have I done to you?"
So Elisha turned back from him, and took a yoke of oxen and slaughtered them and boiled their flesh, using the oxen’s equipment, and gave it to the people, and they ate. Then he arose and followed Elijah, and became his servant.
