Dia dos avós
Os avós são tesouros vivos de sabedoria e fé. A Bíblia honra os mais velhos e celebra a transmissão de fé entre gerações — dos avós aos netos e destes aos que virão.
A bênção dos avós
A coroa dos velhos são os filhos dos filhos. A misericórdia de Deus é de geração em geração sobre os que o temem.
6 The crown of old men are childrens children; and the ornament of children are their fathers.
17 But the kindness of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting over those that fear him, and his righteousness unto childrens children,
25 I have been young, and I am also grown old: yet have I never seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed seeking for bread.
4 One generation shall praise thy works to the other, and thy mighty acts shall they declare.
5 For the Lord is good; to eternity endureth his kindness; and unto the latest generation his truth.
Força e fidelidade
Mesmo na velhice darão frutos. Os cabelos brancos são coroa de glória. Deus não abandona seus filhos na idade avançada.
14 (92:15) They shall still flourish in high old age; they shall be vigorous and covered with foliage;15 (92:16) To declare that the Lord is upright: he is my rock, and there is no faultiness in him.
31 An ornamental crown is the hoary head, on the way of righteousness can it be found.
4 And even unto old age I am the same; and even unto the time of hoary hairs will I bear: l have done it, and I will carry you; even I will bear, and deliver you.
30 Though youths should grow faint and be weary, and young men should utterly stumble:31 Yet they that wait upon the Lord shall acquire new strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk, and not become faint.
9 Only take heed to thyself, and guard thy soul diligently, that thou do not forget the things which thy eyes have seen, and that they depart not from thy heart all the days of thy life; but thou shalt make them known unto thy sons, and unto thy sons sons;
