O pai que educa
Instrui a criança no caminho em que deve andar. O pai justo educa com amor, firmeza e o exemplo de uma vida íntegra.
Train up a child in the way he should go;
even when he is old he will not depart from it.
Whoever spares the rod hates his son,
but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him.
The righteous who walks in his integrity—
blessed are his children after him!
The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice;
he who fathers a wise son will be glad in him.
In the fear of the Lord one has strong confidence,
and his children will have a refuge.
Honra e alegria
Honra a teu pai e tua mãe. Os filhos são herança do Senhor, e a família que serve a Deus junta é inabalável.
"Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,
the fruit of the womb a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior
are the children of one’s youth.
Blessed is the man
who fills his quiver with them!
He shall not be put to shame
when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.
And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."
Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.
And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him.And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’But the father said to his servants,‘Bring quickly the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet.And bring the fattened calf and kill it, and let us eat and celebrate.
