Dificuldades

For the choir director: A song of the descendants of Korah, to be sung by soprano voices.#46:TITLE Hebrew according to alamoth.

God is our refuge and strength,

always ready to help in times of trouble.

So we will not fear when earthquakes come

and the mountains crumble into the sea.

Let the oceans roar and foam.

Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge! Interlude

This I declare about the Lord:

He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;

he is my God, and I trust him.

O my people, trust in him at all times.

Pour out your heart to him,

for God is our refuge. Interlude

The Lord is a shelter for the oppressed,

a refuge in times of trouble.

Those who know your name trust in you,

for you, O Lord, do not abandon those who search for you.

You rule the oceans.

You subdue their storm-tossed waves.

But mightier than the violent raging of the seas,

mightier than the breakers on the shore

the Lord above is mightier than these!

He calmed the storm to a whisper

and stilled the waves.

Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? (As the Scriptures say, "For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.") No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrownot even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth belowindeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Provisão nas dificuldades

O Senhor provê mesmo nos tempos mais difíceis. Ele sustentou Elias, protegeu Israel e cuida dos seus com fidelidade eterna.

There was always enough flour and olive oil left in the containers, just as the Lord had promised through Elijah.

The Lord spread a cloud above them as a covering

and gave them a great fire to light the darkness.

They asked for meat, and he sent them quail;

he satisfied their hunger with mannabread from heaven.

He split open a rock, and water gushed out

to form a river through the dry wasteland.

Once I was young, and now I am old.

Yet I have never seen the godly abandoned

or their children begging for bread.

Day by day the Lord takes care of the innocent,

and they will receive an inheritance that lasts forever.

They will not be disgraced in hard times;

even in famine they will have more than enough.

For I will pour out water to quench your thirst

and to irrigate your parched fields.

And I will pour out my Spirit on your descendants,

and my blessing on your children.

But you are a tower of refuge to the poor, O Lord,

a tower of refuge to the needy in distress.

You are a refuge from the storm

and a shelter from the heat.

For the oppressive acts of ruthless people

are like a storm beating against a wall,

It will be a shelter from daytime heat

and a hiding place from storms and rain.

When you go through deep waters,

I will be with you.

When you go through rivers of difficulty,

you will not drown.

When you walk through the fire of oppression,

you will not be burned up;

the flames will not consume you.

Força nas provas

Em tudo somos atribulados, mas não esmagados. O Senhor é bom e é fortaleza no dia da angústia — Ele conhce os seus.

We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed.

The Lord is good,

a strong refuge when trouble comes.

He is close to those who trust in him.

He wraps the rain in his thick clouds,

and the clouds don’t burst with the weight.

He covers the face of the moon,

shrouding it with his clouds.

He created the horizon when he separated the waters;

he set the boundary between day and night.

You will be safe from slander

and have no fear when destruction comes.

Jesus responded, "Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!" Then he got up and rebuked the wind and waves, and suddenly there was a great calm.

The disciples were amazed. "Who is this man?" they asked. "Even the winds and waves obey him!"

And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?

"So don’t worry about these things, saying, What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?

And the woman fled into the wilderness, where God had prepared a place to care for her for 1,260 days.

Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you.
