16 *When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, 17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying:

And bore our sicknesses."

17 When Jesus heard it, He said to them, *"Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance."

Sending Out the Twelve

1 Then *He called His twelve disciples together and *gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. 2 *He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.

The Thorn in the Flesh

Therefore most gladly *I will rather boast in my infirmities, *that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore *I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. *For when I am weak, then I am strong.

23 No longer drink only water, but use a little wine for your stomach’s sake and your frequent infirmities.

4 *And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; *there shall be no more death, *nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away."
