22 But *the fruit of the Spirit is *love, joy, peace, patience, *kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 *gentleness, *self-control; *against such things there is no law.

11 For *the grace of God *has appeared, bringing salvation *for all people, 12 training us to renounce ungodliness and *worldly passions, and *to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in *the present age, 13 *waiting for our blessed *hope, the *appearing of the glory of our great *God and Savior Jesus Christ,

7 for God gave us *a spirit not of fear but *of power and love and self-control.

5 For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith *with virtue,* and virtue *with knowledge, 6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control *with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, 7 and godliness *with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection *with love.

32 *Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty,

and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.

28 A man *without self-control

is like *a city broken into and left without walls.

11 A fool gives full vent to his spirit,

but a wise man quietly holds it back.

19 *When words are many, transgression is not lacking,

*but whoever restrains his lips is prudent.

24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives *the prize? So *run that you may obtain it. 25 Every *athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we *an imperishable. 26 So I do not run aimlessly; I *do not box as one *beating the air. 27 But I discipline my body and *keep it under control,* lest after preaching to others *I myself should be *disqualified.

9 But if they cannot exercise self-control, *they should marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion.

13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. *God is faithful, and *he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

8 *Be sober-minded; *be watchful. Your *adversary the devil *prowls around *like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 9 *Resist him, *firm in your faith, knowing that *the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world.

7 *The end of all things is at hand; therefore *be self-controlled and sober-minded *for the sake of your prayers.

1 Since therefore *Christ suffered in the flesh,**arm yourselves with the same way of thinking, for *whoever has suffered in the flesh *has ceased from sin, 2 *so as to live for *the rest of the time in the flesh *no longer for human passions but *for the will of God. 3 For the time that is past *suffices *for doing what the Gentiles want to do, living in sensuality, passions, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and lawless idolatry. 4 With respect to this they are surprised when you do not join them in the same flood of *debauchery, and *they malign you; 5 but they will give account to him who is ready *to judge the living and the dead.

4 that each one of you know how to control his own *body* in holiness and *honor, 5 not in *the passion of lust *like the Gentiles *who do not know God;

22 *Bless the Lord, all his works,

in all places of his dominion.

*Bless the Lord, O my soul!

13 *Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,

and your dominion endures throughout all generations.

[The Lord is faithful in all his words

and kind in all his works.*]

13 "I saw in the night visions,

and *behold, with the clouds of heaven

there came one like a son of man,

and he came to the *Ancient of Days

and was presented before him.

14 *And to him was given dominion

and glory and a kingdom,

that all *peoples, nations, and languages

should serve him;

*his dominion is an everlasting dominion,

which shall not pass away,

and his kingdom one

that shall not be destroyed.

2 It has seemed good to me to show the *signs and wonders that the *Most High God has done for me.

3 How great are *his signs,

how mighty his *wonders!

*His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,

*and his dominion endures from generation to generation.

6 *For to us a child is born,

to us *a son is given;

*and the government shall be *upon* his shoulder,

and his name shall be called*

Wonderful *Counselor, *Mighty God,

*Everlasting *Father, Prince of *Peace.

7 Of the increase of his government and of peace

*there will be no end,

on the throne of David and over his kingdom,

to establish it and to uphold it

*with justice and with righteousness

from this time forth and forevermore.

*The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.

13 He *has delivered us from *the domain of darkness and transferred us to *the kingdom of *his beloved Son, 14 *in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

20 that he worked in Christ *when he raised him from the dead and *seated him at his right hand *in the heavenly places, 21 *far above *all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above *every name that is named, not only in *this age but also in the one to come.

20 But *our citizenship is in heaven, and *from it we *await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform *our lowly body *to be like his glorious body, *by the power that enables him even *to subject all things to himself.

9 We know that *Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; *death no longer has dominion over him.

8 Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

9 You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact *the Spirit of God dwells in you. *Anyone who does not have *the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.

22 For *as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. 23 But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, then *at his coming *those who belong to Christ. 24 Then comes the end, when he delivers *the kingdom to God the Father after destroying *every rule and every authority and power. 25 For he must reign *until he has put all his enemies under his feet.

2 "Dominion and fear are with God;*

he makes peace in his high heaven.
