Esperar no Senhor
Esperar no Senhor é ato de fé e confiança. A Bíblia promete que os que esperam em Deus renovam as forças, recebem direção e experimentam a fidelidade divina no tempo certo.
Renovar as forças
Os que esperam no Senhor renovam as forças. Sobem como águias, correm e não se cansam, caminham e não se fatigam.
But those expecting YHWH pass [to] power, || They raise up the pinion as eagles, || They run and are not fatigued, || They go on and do not faint!
And therefore YHWH waits to favor you, || And therefore He is exalted to pity you, || For YHWH [is] a God of judgment, || O the blessedness of all waiting for Him.
Look to YHWH—be strong, || And He strengthens your heart, || Indeed, look to YHWH!
I had not believed to look on the goodness of YHWH || In the land of the living! Look to YHWH—be strong, || And He strengthens your heart, || Indeed, look to YHWH!
BY DAVID. YHWH [is] my light and my salvation, || Whom do I fear? YHWH [is] the strength of my life, || Of whom am I afraid? When evildoers come near to me to eat my flesh, || My adversaries and my enemies to me, || They have stumbled and fallen. Though a host encamps against me, || My heart does not fear, || Though war rises up against me, || In this I [am] confident. One [thing] I asked of YHWH—it I seek: My dwelling in the house of YHWH, || All the days of my life, || To look on the pleasantness of YHWH, || And to inquire in His temple. For He hides me in a dwelling place in the day of evil, || He hides me in a secret place of His tent, || He raises me up on a rock. And now my head is lifted up, || Above my enemies—my surrounders, || And I sacrifice in His tent sacrifices of shouting, || I sing, indeed, I sing praise to YHWH. Hear, O YHWH, my voice—I call, || And favor me, and answer me. My heart said to You, "They sought my face, || Your face, O YHWH, I seek." Do not hide Your face from me, || Do not turn Your servant aside in anger, || You have been my help. Do not leave me, nor forsake me, || O God of my salvation. When my father and my mother || Have forsaken me, then YHWH gathers me. Show me, O YHWH, Your way, || And lead me in a path of uprightness, || For the sake of my beholders. Do not give me to the will of my adversaries, || For false witnesses have risen against me, || And they breathe out violence to me. I had not believed to look on the goodness of YHWH || In the land of the living! Look to YHWH—be strong, || And He strengthens your heart, || Indeed, look to YHWH!
Espera paciente
Esperei com paciência no Senhor e Ele se inclinou para mim. Confie nele e descanse — Ele agirá no tempo certo.
TO THE OVERSEER. A PSALM OF DAVID. I have diligently expected YHWH, || And He inclines to me, and hears my cry, And He causes me to come up || From a pit of desolation—from mire of mud, || And He raises up my feet on a rock, || He is establishing my steps. And He puts a new song in my mouth, "Praise to our God." Many see and fear, and trust in YHWH. O the blessedness of the man || Who has made YHWH his trust, || And has not turned to the proud, || And those turning aside to lies. You have done much, my God YHWH; Your wonders and Your thoughts toward us, || There is none to arrange to You, || I declare and speak: They have been more than to be numbered. Sacrifice and present You have not desired, || But a body You have prepared for me, || Burnt and sin-offering You have not asked. Then I said, "Behold, I have come, || In the roll of the scroll it is written of me, I have delighted to do Your pleasure, my God, || And Your law [is] within my heart." I have proclaimed tidings of righteousness || In the great assembly, || Behold, I do not restrain my lips, || O YHWH, You have known. I have not concealed Your righteousness || In the midst of my heart, || I have told of Your faithfulness and Your salvation, || I have not hidden Your kindness and Your truth, || To the great assembly. You, O YHWH, do not restrain Your mercies from me, || Your kindness and Your truth continually keep me. For innumerable evils have surrounded me, || My iniquities have overtaken me, || And I have not been able to see; They have been more than the hairs of my head, || And my heart has forsaken me. Be pleased, O YHWH, to deliver me, || O YHWH, make haste for my help. They are ashamed and confounded together, || Who are seeking my soul to destroy it, || They are turned backward, || And are ashamed, who are desiring my evil.
Our soul has waited for YHWH, || He [is] our help and our shield, For our heart rejoices in Him, || For we have trusted in His Holy Name. Let Your kindness, O YHWH, be on us, || As we have waited for You!
I hoped [for] YHWH—my soul has hoped, || And I have waited for His word. My soul [is] for the Lord, || More than those watching for morning, || Watching for morning!
For God alone, be silent, O my soul, || For my hope [is] from Him.
Look to YHWH, and keep His way, || And He exalts you to possess the land, || In the wicked being cut off—you see!
Confiança e perseverança
Confie no Senhor de todo o coração. Sede pacientes na tribulação — o Senhor é fiel e cumprirá todas as suas promessas.
Trust to YHWH with all your heart, || And do not lean to your own understanding. In all your ways know Him, || And He makes your paths straight.
And not only [so], but we also boast in the tribulations, knowing that the tribulation works endurance; and the endurance, experience; and the experience, hope;
in all might being made mighty according to the power of His glory, to all endurance and long-suffering with joy.
Be patient, then, brothers, until the coming of the LORD; behold, the farmer expects the precious fruit of the earth, being patient for it, until he may receive rain—early and latter; you also be patient; establish your hearts, because the coming of the LORD has drawn near;
behold, we call those who are enduring blessed; you heard of the endurance of Job, and you have seen the end from the LORD, that the LORD is very compassionate, and pitying.
Having purified your souls in the obedience of the truth through the Spirit to unhypocritical brotherly love, love one another earnestly out of a pure heart, being begotten again, not out of corruptible seed, but incorruptible, through a word of God—living and remaining—throughout the age; because all flesh [is] as grass, and all glory of man as flower of grass; the grass withered, and the flower of it fell away, but the saying of the LORD remains—throughout the age; and this is the saying of good news that was proclaimed to you.
the LORD is not slow in regard to the promise, as some count slowness, but is long-suffering to us, not intending any to be lost, but all to come to conversion,
"Then will the kingdom of the heavens be likened to ten virgins, who, having taken their lamps, went forth to meet the bridegroom; and five of them were prudent, and five foolish; they who were foolish having taken their lamps, did not take with themselves oil; and the prudent took oil in their vessels, with their lamps. And the bridegroom lingering, they all nodded and were sleeping, and in the middle of the night a cry was made, Behold, the bridegroom comes; go forth to meet him! Then all those virgins rose, and trimmed their lamps, and the foolish said to the prudent, Give us of your oil, because our lamps are going out; and the prudent answered, saying, Lest there may not be sufficient for us and you, go rather to those selling, and buy for yourselves. And while they are going away to buy, the bridegroom came, and those ready went in with him to the wedding feasts, and the door was shut; and afterward come also the rest of the virgins, saying, Lord, lord, open to us; and he answering said, Truly I say to you, I have not known you. Watch therefore, for you have not known the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man comes.
