41 *Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. *The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."

3 "Blessed*are the poor in spirit,

For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Walking in the Spirit

16 I say then: *Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

22 But *the fruit of the Spirit is *love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, *goodness, *faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. *Against such there is no law.

25 *If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

The Good News of Salvation

1 "The *Spirit of the Lord Godis upon Me,

Because the Lord*has anointed Me

To preach good tidings to the poor;

He has sent Me *to heal the brokenhearted,

To proclaim *liberty to the captives,

And the opening of the prison to thosewhoare bound;

19 Then *I will give them one heart, and I will put *a new spirit within them, and take *the stony heart out of their flesh, and give them a heart of flesh, 20 *that they may walk in My statutes and keep My judgments and do them; *and they shall be My people, and I will be their God.

5 Thus says the Lord God to these bones: "Surely I will *cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live.

10 *Create in me a clean heart, O God,

And renew a steadfast spirit within me.

11 Do not cast me away from Your presence,

And do not take Your *Holy Spirit from me.

12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation,

And uphold me byYour*generous Spirit.

A broken and a contrite heart—

These, O God, You will not despise.

And saves such as have a contrite spirit.

The History of Creation

1 In the *beginning *God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was *without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. *And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

8 But thereis a spirit in man,

And *the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding.

6 RememberyourCreator before the silver cord is loosed,

Or the golden bowl is broken,

Or the pitcher shattered at the fountain,

Or the wheel broken at the well.

7 *Then the dust will return to the earth as it was,

*And the spirit will return to God *who gave it.

2 I thought it good to declare the signs and wonders *that the Most High God has worked for me.

3 *How great are His signs,

And how mighty His wonders!

His kingdom is*an everlasting kingdom,

And His dominion is from generation to generation.
