3 Behold, children are a *gift of the Lord,

The fruit of the womb is a reward.

4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,

So are the children of one’s youth.

5 Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them;

They will not be ashamed

When they speak with their enemies in the gate.

1 Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord,

Who walks in His ways.

2 When you eat the fruit of the labor of your hands,

You will be happy and it will go well for you.

3 Your wife will be like a fruitful vine

*Within your house,

Your children like olive plants

Around your table.

4 Behold, for so shall a man

Who fears the Lord be blessed.

12 When our sons in their youth are like growing plants,

And our daughters like corner pillars *fashioned for a palace,

2 His *descendants will be mighty *on the earth;

The generation of the upright will be blessed.

28 God blessed them; and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that *moves on the earth."

4 "Blessed will be the *children of your womb, the *produce of your ground, and the *offspring of your animals: the newborn of your herd and the young of your flock.

14 You shall be blessed above all peoples; there will be no sterile male or infertile female among you or among your cattle.

6 Train up a child *in the way he should go,

Even when he grows older he will not abandon it.

15 Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child;

The rod of discipline will remove it far from him.

24 He who withholds his *rod hates his son,

But he who loves him *disciplines him diligently.

15 The rod and a rebuke give wisdom,

But a child *who gets his own way brings shame to his mother.

13 Do not withhold discipline from a child;

Though you strike him with the rod, he will not die.

1 Listen, my sons, to the instruction of a father,

And pay attention so that you may *gain understanding,

1 The proverbs of Solomon.

A wise son makes a father glad,

But a foolish son is a grief to his mother.

6 These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. 7 And you shall repeat them diligently to your sons and speak of them when you sit in your house, when you walk on the road, when you lie down, and when you get up.

14 But when Jesus saw this, He was indignant and said to them, "Allow the children to come to Me; do not *forbid them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

11 So if you, despite being *evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

52 And Jesus kept increasing in wisdom and *stature, and in favor with God and people.

13 Just as a father has compassion on his children,

So the Lord has compassion on those who *fear Him.

1 See *how great a love the Father has given us, that we would be called children of God; and in fact we are. For this reason the world does not know us: because it did not know Him.

24 The Lord bless you, and *keep you;

25 The Lord cause His face to shine on you,

And be gracious to you;

26 The Lord lift up His face to you,

And give you peace.’

28 Now may God give you of the dew of heaven,

And of the fatness of the earth,

And an abundance of grain and new wine;

29 May peoples serve you,

And nations bow down to you;

Be master of your brothers,

And may your mother’s sons bow down to you.

Cursed be those who curse you,

And blessed be those who bless you."

3 ‘For I will pour water on *the thirsty land

And streams on the dry ground;

I will pour out My Spirit on your offspring,

And My blessing on your descendants;

4 And they will spring up *among the grass

Like poplars by streams of water.’

13 "All your sons will be *taught by the Lord;

And the well-being of your sons will be great.

5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,

And before you were born I consecrated you;

I have appointed you as a prophet to the nations."

38 They shall be My people, and I will be their God; 39 and I will give them one heart and one way, so that they will fear Me always, for their own good and for the good of their children after them.

13 For You created my innermost parts;

You wove me in my mother’s womb.

14 I will give thanks to You, because *I am awesomely and wonderfully made;

Wonderful are Your works,

And my soul knows it very well.

15 My *frame was not hidden from You

When I was made in secret,

And skillfully formed in the depths of the earth;

16 Your eyes have seen my formless substance;

And in Your book were written

All the days that were ordained for me,

When as yet there was not one of them.

10 I was cast upon You from *birth;

You have been my God from my mother’s womb.

25 I have been young and now I am old,

Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken

Or his *descendants begging for bread.

26 All day long he is gracious and lends,

And his *descendants are a blessing.

4 We will not conceal them from their children,

But we will tell the generation to come the praises of the Lord,

And His power and His wondrous works that He has done.

6 Grandchildren are the crown of the old,

And the glory of sons is their fathers.

7 A righteous person who walks in his integrity—

How blessed are his sons after him.

1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 Honor your father and mother (which is the first commandment with a promise), 3 so that it may turn out well for you, and that you may live long on the earth.

4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this is pleasing *to the Lord.

21 Fathers, do not *antagonize your children, so that they will not become discouraged.

12 "Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be prolonged on the land which the Lord your God gives you.

7 It is for discipline that you endure; God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline? 8 But if you are without discipline, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons.

4 but if any widow has children or grandchildren, they must first learn to show proper respect for their own family and to give back compensation to their parents; for this is acceptable in the sight of God.

21 Whenever a woman is in labor she has *pain, because her hour has come; but when she gives birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish because of the joy that a *child has been born into the world.

39 Moreover, your little ones who, you said, would become plunder, and your sons, who this day have no knowledge of good and evil, shall enter there, and I will give it to them and they shall take possession of it.
