For the desire of money is the roote of all euill, which while some lusted after, they erred from the faith, and pearced themselues through with many sorowes.(1 Timothy 6:10)
For they that will be rich, fall into tentation and snares, and into many foolish and noysome lustes, which drowne men in perdition and destruction.(1 Timothy 6:9)
No man can serue two masters: for eyther he shall hate the one, and loue the other, or els he shall leane to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serue God and riches.(Matthew 6:24)
Mortifie therefore your members which are on the earth, fornication, vncleannes, the inordinate affection, euill concupiscence, and couetousnes which is idolatrie.(Colossians 3:5)
But fornication, and all vncleannesse, or couetousnesse, let it not be once named among you, as it becommeth Saintes,(Ephesians 5:3)
Contentamento
Wherefore he said vnto them, Take heede, and beware of couetousnesse: for though a man haue abundance, yet his life standeth not in his riches.(Luke 12:15)
For what shall it profite a man, though he should winne the whole world, if he lose his soule?(Mark 8:36)
Lay not vp treasures for your selues vpon the earth, where the mothe and canker corrupt, and where theeues digge through and steale. But lay vp treasures for your selues in heauen, where neither the mothe nor canker corrupteth, and where theeues neither digge through, nor steale.(Matthew 6:19,20)
Trauaile not too much to be rich: but cease from thy wisdome.(Proverbs 23:4)
The riches of vanitie shall diminish: but he that gathereth with the hand, shall increase them.(Proverbs 13:11)
Riqueza ilusória
As riquezas são passageiras. Quem ama o dinheiro nunca terá o suficiente.
When goods increase, they are increased that eate them: and what good commeth to the owners thereof, but the beholding thereof with their eyes?(Ecclesiastes 5:10)
And this also is an euill sickenes that in all pointes as he came, so shall he goe, and what profit hath he that he hath traueiled for the winde?(Ecclesiastes 5:15)
He coueteth euermore greedily, but the righteous giueth and spareth not.(Proverbs 21:26)
For, for this cause ye pay also tribute: for they are Gods ministers, applying themselues for the same thing.(Romans 13:6)
Incline mine heart vnto thy testimonies, and not to couetousnesse.(Psalms 119:36)
