Criado à imagem de Deus
Deus criou o homem à sua imagem. Mas pelo pecado, o homem caiu e passou a depender da graça para ser restaurado.
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and they shall have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the heaven, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.27 And God created man in his image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
8 And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day; and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden.
Fragilidade humana
O homem nascido de mulher é de poucos dias e cheio de inquietação. Deus conhece nossa fragilidade e cuida de nós.
1 Man born of a woman is short of days, and sated with harrowing trouble.
17 Can a mortal be more righteous than God? or can a man be more pure than his Maker?
17 What is the mortal, that thou shouldst make him great? and that thou shouldst direct thy heart toward him?
24 From the Lord are the steps of man ordained; but man how can he understand his own way?
Renovação e chamado
Despojados do velho homem e revestidos do novo, somos chamados a buscar a justiça, a piedade e o amor.
21 For before the eyes of the Lord are the ways of man, and all his tracks doth he weigh in the balance.
1 Unto man belong the resolves of the heart; but from the Lord cometh the expression of the tongue.
A confiança errada
Maldito o homem que confia no homem. O homem de duplo ânimo é instável em todos os seus caminhos.
5 Thus hath said the Lord, Cursed is the man that trusteth in man, and placeth on flesh his dependence, while from the Lord his heart departeth.
