Honestidade
A honestidade é virtude cristã fundamental.
1 Balances of deceit are an abomination of the Lord; but a full weight obtaineth his favor.3 The integrity of the upright guideth them; but the cunning of the treacherous destroyeth them.
3 The integrity of the upright guideth them; but the cunning of the treacherous destroyeth them.
9 Then wilt thou understand righteousness, and justice, and equity: yea, every track of goodness.
3 To exercise righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.
25 Let thy eyes look right forward, and let thy eyelids see straight out before thee.
Praticar a honestidade
Falai a verdade, pagai o que deveis, não negueis ao próximo o bem. A honestidade prática é testemunho do evangelho.
27 Withhold not a benefit from him who is deserving it, when it is in the power of thy hand to do it.
8 Better is a little with righteousness, than great incomes through injustice.
2 Treasures of wickedness will not profit aught; but righteousness will deliver from death.
Confissão e transparência
Confessai as vossas ofensas uns aos outros. Quem confessa e deixa o pecado encontra misericórdia e restauração.
13 He that concealeth his transgressions will not prosper; but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them will obtain mercy.
Coração puro
Bem-aventurados os puros de coração, porque verão a Deus. A honestidade começa no interior e se manifesta nas ações.
7 Be silent before the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who practices wicked devices.
5 Well will it be with the man who is kind, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with justice.
13 In the transgression of his lips is the snare of the wicked; but the righteous cometh out of distress.17 He that uttereth truth announceth righteousness; but a false witness, deceit.
28 A perverse man scattereth strife; and a whisperer separateth confident friends.
