Lei
A lei de Deus é expressão do seu caráter e amor. Do Sinai ao Sermão do Monte, a lei orienta, protege e revela o padrão santo de Deus para a vida humana.
O propósito da lei
A lei de Deus revela o pecado e nos conduz a Cristo. Pela lei é que temos consciência do que é justo e do que é errado.
20 Inasmuch as, by works of law, shall no flesh be declared righteous before him,through law, in fact, is discovery of sin.
15 What then? Shall we sin, because we are not under law but under favour? Far be it!
23 All things are allowablebut, not all things, are profitable,all things are allowablebut, not all things, upbuild.
14 For, the whole law, in one word, is summed up in this,Thou shall love thy neighbour as thyself.
22 But, the fruit of the Spirit, islove, joy, peace, long-suffering, graciousness, goodness, faithfulness,23 meekness, self-control;against such things as these, there is no law.
2 One anothers burdens, be ye bearing, and, so, fill up the law of the Christ.
Amar e obedecer
O maior mandamento é amar a Deus e ao próximo. Toda a lei se resume nestes dois mandamentos, que são o fundamento de tudo.
31 The second, is, thisThou shalt love, thy neighbour, as thyself. Greater than these, other commandment, is there none.
12 This, is my own commandment, That ye be loving one another, just as I loved you.
12 Whatsoever things, therefore, ye would, that men be doing unto you, so, be, ye also, doing, unto them,for, this, is the law and the prophets.
8 Nothing to any, be owingsave to be loving one another; for, he that loveth his neighbour, hath given to, law, its fulfillment.
21 And, this commandment, have we from him,that, he who loveth God, love, his brother also.
21 Beloved! if our heart be not condemning us, boldness, have we, towards God;22 And, whatsoever we are asking, we are receiving from him, because, his commandments, are we keeping, and, the things that are pleasing before him, are we doing.
Bênçãos da obediência à lei
Se andardes nos meus mandamentos, vivereis. A obediência à lei de Deus traz vida, paz e prosperidade espiritual.
1 And it shall be, if thou wilt, hearken, unto the voice of Yahweh thy God, to observe to do all his commandments which I am commanding thee to-day, then will Yahweh thy God set thee on high, above all the nations of the earth;
16 for thou must keep the commandments of Yahweh thy God which I am commanding thee to-day, to love Yahweh thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes, and his regulations,so shalt thou live and multiply, and Yahweh thy God will bless thee, in the land which thou art entering to possess.
12 Now, therefore, O Israel, what is, Yahweh thy God, asking of thee,but to revere Yahweh thy God to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve Yahweh thy God, with all thy heart, and with all thy soul:13 to keep the commandments of Yahweh and his statutes, which I am commanding thee to-day,for thy good?
6 so shall these words which I am commanding thee to-day, be upon thy heart;7 and thou shalt impress them upon thy sons, and shalt speak of them,when thou sittest in thy house and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down and when thou risest up;
8 This scroll of the law must not cease out of thy mouth, but thou must talk to thyself therein, day and night, that thou mayest take heed to do according to all that is written therein,for, then, shalt thou make thy way prosperous, and, then, shalt thou have good success.
5 Only, take ye diligent heed, to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of Yahweh commanded youto love Yahweh your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him,and to serve himwith all your heart, and with all your soul.
10 With all my heart, have I sought thee, Suffer me not to be led astray from thy commandments.
30 The way of faithfulness, have I chosen, Thy regulations, have I deemed right.
17 But, the lovingkindness of Yahweh, is from one age even to another, Upon them who revere him, And his righteousness, to childrens children:18 To such as keep his covenant, And remember his precepts, to do them.
Lei e graça
A lei veio para nos guiar; a graça veio para nos salvar. Em Cristo, cumprimos a lei pelo amor — o fruto do Espírito não tem lei contra si.
4 And ye fathers, be not provoking your children to anger, but be nourishing them up in the discipline and admonition of the Lord.
8 He hath told thee, O son of earth, what is good,what then is, Yahweh, seeking of thee, but, to do justice, to delight in lovingkindness, and humbly to walk with thy God?
24 But let, justice, roll along like water,and, righteousness, as a torrent over flowing.
14 Be not getting diversely yoked with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness? Or what fellowship hath light with darkness?
