Lei
A lei de Deus é expressão do seu caráter e amor. Do Sinai ao Sermão do Monte, a lei orienta, protege e revela o padrão santo de Deus para a vida humana.
O propósito da lei
A lei de Deus revela o pecado e nos conduz a Cristo. Pela lei é que temos consciência do que é justo e do que é errado.
20 because that by ye dedes of the lawe shall no flesshe be iustified in the sight of God. For by the lawe commeth the knowledge of synne.
15 What then? Shall we synne because we are not vnder the lawe: but vnder grace? God forbyd.
23 All thynges are lawfull to me but all thinges edifye not.
14 For all ye lawe is fulfilled in one worde which is this: thou shalt love thyne neghbour as thy selfe.
22 But ye frute of sprete is loue ioye peace longesufferinge getlenes goodnes faythfulnes23 meknes temperancye. Agaynst suche ther is no lawe.
2 Beare ye one anothers burthe and so fulfill the lawe of Christ.
Amar e obedecer
O maior mandamento é amar a Deus e ao próximo. Toda a lei se resume nestes dois mandamentos, que são o fundamento de tudo.
31 And the seconde is lyke vnto this: Thou shalt love thy neghbour as thy silfe. Ther is none other commaundement greater then these.
12 This is my commaundement that ye love togedder as I have loved you.
12 Therfore whatsoever ye wolde that men shulde do to you even so do ye to them. This ys the lawe and the Prophettes.
8 Owe nothinge to eny man: but to love one another. For he that loveth another fulfylleth the lawe.
21 And this commaundemet have we of him: that he which loveth God shuld love his brother also.
21 Beloved yf oure hertes condempne vs not then have we trust to god warde:22 and what soever we axe we shall receave of him: be cause we kepe his commaundementes and do those thinges which are pleasinge in his sight.
Bênçãos da obediência à lei
Se andardes nos meus mandamentos, vivereis. A obediência à lei de Deus traz vida, paz e prosperidade espiritual.
1 Yf thou shalt herken diligently vnto the voyce of the Lorde thy God, to obserue and to do all his commaundmentes whiche I commaunde the this daye. The Lorde wil set the an hye aboue all nacions of the erth.
16 in that I commaunde the this daye to loue the Lorde thi God and to walke in his wayes and to kepe his commaundementes, his ordynaunces and his lawes: that thou mayst lyue and multipye, and that the Lorde thy God man blesse the in the londe whother thou goest to possesse it.
12 And now Israel what is it that the Lord thi God requyreth of the, but to feare the Lord thi God and to walke in all his wayes and to loue him and to serue the Lorde thy God with all thyne herte and with all thy soule,13 that thou kepe the commaundmentes of the Lorde ad his ordinaunces which I commaunde the this daye, for thy welth.
6 And these wordes which I commaunde the this daye, shalbe in thine herte7 ad thou shalt whett them on thy childern, and shalt talke of them when thou art at home in thyne housse and as thou walkest by the waye, ad when thou lyest doune and when thou rysest vpp:
Lei e graça
A lei veio para nos guiar; a graça veio para nos salvar. Em Cristo, cumprimos a lei pelo amor — o fruto do Espírito não tem lei contra si.
4 And ye fathers move not youre children to wrath: but bringe the vp wt the norter and informacio of ye Lorde.
14 Set youreselues therfore at large and beare not a straugers yoke wyth the vnbelevers. For what fellishippe hath rightewesnes with vnrightewesnes? What company hath light wt darcknes?
