O que significa ser livre em Cristo

A verdadeira liberdade não é fazer tudo o que dá vontade, mas ser livre da culpa e do pecado por meio de Jesus. Quando Cristo transforma a sua caminhada, o passado perde o poder de condenar o seu presente.

1 Christ set us free so we could have real freedom. So stand firm and don’t get burdened down again by a yoke of slavery.(Galatians 5:1)

36 If the Son sets you free, then you’re truly free.(John 8:36)

31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who trusted in him, "If you follow my teaching then you really are my disciples. 32 You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."(John 8:31,32)

Liberdade para servir, não para tropeçar

Ser livre na fé não é desculpa para se descuidar ou machucar os outros. A liberdade que Jesus dá ensina a fazer escolhas com discernimento e a colocar a vida a serviço do próximo.

13 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to freedom! Just don’t use your freedom as an excuse to indulge your sinful human nature—instead serve one another in love.(Galatians 5:13)

12 People say, "I’m free to do anything"—but not everything is appropriate! "I’m free to do anything"—but I will not let anything control me! People say,(1 Corinthians 6:12)

16 Yes, you are free people! So don’t use your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but live as God’s servants.(1 Peter 2:16)

25 But if you look to the perfect law of freedom and follow it, not as someone who just listens and then forgets, but as someone who acts on it—then you will be blessed in what you do.(James 1:25)
