Mãe
A mãe é honrada na Bíblia como pilar da família. Seu amor incondicional, sua sabedoria e sua dedicação são celebrados como reflexo do próprio amor de Deus por seus filhos.
O amor de mãe
Pode uma mãe esquecer-se do filho do seu ventre? Ainda que ela se esquecesse, Deus nunca nos abandona. O amor materno reflete o divino.
13 As one whom, his mother, consoleth, So, will, I, console you, And in Jerusalem, shall ye be consoled.
3 Lo! an inheritance from Yahweh, are children, A reward, the fruit of the womb:
1 How happy is every one that revereth Yahweh, who walketh in his ways!2 The labour of thine own hands, surely thou shalt eat. How happy thou, and well for thine!
4 Love, is patient, is gracious. Love, is not envious, vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,5 Acteth not unbecomingly, seeketh not her own things, is not easily provoked, imputeth not that which is base,6 Rejoiceth not over unrighteousness, but rejoiceth in sympathy with truth,7 All things, covereth, all things, believeth, all things, hopeth, all things, endureth.
Sabedoria e instrução
A mãe sábia instrui os filhos nos caminhos de Deus. Seu ensino é lei que guia e sua disciplina é expressão de amor verdadeiro.
8 Hear, my son, the correction of thy father, and do not reject the instruction of thy mother;9 For, a wreath of beauty, shall they be to thy head, and chains of ornament, to thy neck.
6 Train up a youth, in the direction of his duty, even when he becometh old, he will not depart from it.
24 He that withholdeth his rod, hateth his son,but, he that loveth him, carefully correcteth him.
20 A wise son, maketh a glad father,but, a dullard, despiseth his own mother.
9 Only take thou heed to thyself and keep thy soul diligently, so that thou forget not the things which thine own eyes have seen, and so that they go not out of thy heart, all the days of thy life,but thou shalt make them known unto thy sons and unto thy sons sons:
Honrar a mãe
Honra teu pai e tua mãe. A mulher virtuosa é digna de louvor — seus filhos se levantam e a chamam bem-aventurada.
12 Honour thy father, and thy mother,that thy days may be prolonged upon the soil, which Yahweh thy God is about to give unto thee.
1 Ye children, be obedient unto your parents in the Lord , for this is right:2 Honour thy father and thy mother,which indeed is the first commandment with promise,3 That it may come to be, well with thee, and thou shalt be long-lived upon the land.
10 A virtuous woman, who can find? for, far beyond corals, is her worth.
25 Strength and dignity, are her clothing, and she laugheth at the time to come:26 Her mouth, she openeth with wisdom, and, the instruction of kindness, is on her tongue:27 She looketh well to the goings of her household, and, the bread of idleness, will she not eat.28 Her children rise up, and call her happy! her husband, and he praiseth her:29 Many daughters, have done virtuously, but, thou, excellest them all!30 Deceitful is loveliness and vain is beauty, The woman that revereth Yahweh, she, shall be praised:
