A mãe é honrada na Bíblia como pilar da família. Seu amor incondicional, sua sabedoria e sua dedicação são celebrados como reflexo do próprio amor de Deus por seus filhos.
O amor de mãe
Pode uma mãe esquecer-se do filho do seu ventre? Ainda que ela se esquecesse, Deus nunca nos abandona. O amor materno reflete o divino.
4 Love suffreth longe and is corteous. Love envieth not. Love doth not frowardly swelleth not dealeth5 not dishonestly seketh not her awne is not provoked to anger thynketh not evyll6 reioyseth not in iniquite: but reioyseth in ye trueth7 suffreth all thynge beleveth all thynges hopeth all thynges endureth in all thynges.
Sabedoria e instrução
A mãe sábia instrui os filhos nos caminhos de Deus. Seu ensino é lei que guia e sua disciplina é expressão de amor verdadeiro.
9 Take hede to thy selfe therfore only ad kepe thy soule diligently, that thou forgett not the thinges which thyne eyes haue sene and that they departe not out of thyne harte, all the dayes of thine life: but teach them thy sonnes, ad thy sonnes sonnes.
Honrar a mãe
Honra teu pai e tua mãe. A mulher virtuosa é digna de louvor — seus filhos se levantam e a chamam bem-aventurada.
12 Honoure thy father ad thy mother, that thy dayes may be loge in the lode which the Lorde thy God geueth the.
