Mentira
A mentira parece um atalho fácil para resolver problemas, evitar conflitos ou proteger a própria imagem. No entanto, por trás de cada palavra falsa existe um rastro de desconfiança que afasta você de Deus e das pessoas ao seu redor. A Palavra de Deus confronta essa prática com clareza, mostrando que a falsidade corrói os relacionamentos e fere o propósito que você recebeu para viver com integridade.
Quando você decide abandonar o engano e andar na verdade, sua vida se alinha com o caráter de Deus, que não apenas condena a mentira, mas se alegra com a honestidade. As Escrituras ajudam a examinar o coração e dão a direção necessária para que suas palavras reflitam a sinceridade que Cristo espera de todos os seus seguidores.
A mentira é condenada pela Bíblia como pecado grave. Deus é verdade, e quem mente se alinha com o pai da mentira. O cristão é chamado a falar a verdade em amor.
Deus odeia a mentira
Os lábios mentirosos são abominação para o Senhor. A Bíblia adverte que todo mentiroso terá parte no lago de fogo.
The lying lips are an abomination to the Lord: but they that deale truely are his delite.(Proverbs 12:22)
But the fearful and vnbeleeuing, and the abominable and murtherers, and whoremogers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars shall haue their part in the lake, which burneth with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.(Revelation 21:8)
These sixe things doeth the Lord hate: yea, his soule abhorreth seuen: The hautie eyes, a lying tongue, and the hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that imagineth wicked enterprises, feete that be swift in running to mischiefe, A false witnesse that speaketh lyes, and him that rayseth vp contentions among brethren.(Proverbs 6:16-19)
Lie not one to another, seeing that yee haue put off the olde man with his workes,(Colossians 3:9)
Falar a verdade
Despojai-vos da mentira e falai a verdade cada um com o próximo. Cristo é a verdade, e nos chama a ser testemunhas fiéis.
Wherefore cast off lying, and speake euery man truth vnto his neighbour: for we are members one of another.(Ephesians 4:25)
Iesus sayd vnto him, I am that Way, and that Trueth, and that Life. No man commeth vnto the Father, but by me.(John 14:6)
Ye are of your father the deuill, and the lustes of your father ye will doe: hee hath bene a murtherer from the beginning, and abode not in the trueth, because there is no trueth in him. When hee speaketh a lie, then speaketh hee of his owne: for he is a liar, and the father thereof.(John 8:44)
A false witnes shall not be vnpunished: and he that speaketh lyes, shall perish.(Proverbs 19:9)
There shall no deceitful person dwell within mine house: he that telleth lyes, shall not remaine in my sight.(Psalms 101:7)
Consequências da falsidade
A mentira destrói confiança e relacionamentos. As Escrituras alertam sobre os frutos amargos do engano e da falsidade.
The gathering of treasures by a deceitfull tongue is vanitie tossed to and from of them that seeke death.(Proverbs 21:6)
The lip of trueth shall be stable for euer: but a lying tongue varieth incontinently.(Proverbs 12:19)
A false tongue hateth the afflicted, and a flattering mouth causeth ruine.(Proverbs 26:28)
Thou shalt destroy them that speake lyes: the Lord will abhorre the bloodie man and deceitfull.(Psalms 5:6)
Ye shall not steale, neither deale falsely, neither lie one to another.(Leviticus 19:11)
