Messias
Jesus é o Messias prometido — o Cristo, o Ungido de Deus. Séculos de profecias apontaram para Ele, e Pedro declarou: 'Tu és o Cristo, o Filho do Deus vivo.'
A confissão messiânica
Pedro confessou: Tu és o Cristo, o Filho do Deus vivo. Os apóstolos pregaram incansavelmente que Jesus é o Messias prometido.
15 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is [here], and tomorrow is cast into the oven, [will he] not much more [clothe] you{}, O you{} of little faith?16 Therefore don't be anxious, saying, What shall we eat? Or, What shall we drink? Or, With what shall we be clothed?
42 And every day, in the temple and at home, they did not cease to teach and to preach [the good news of] Christ Jesus.
22 Having therefore obtained the help that is from God, to this day, I stand testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said should come;23 how that the Christ must suffer, [and] how that he first by the resurrection of the dead should proclaim light both to the people and to the Gentiles.
As profecias cumpridas
O Messias viria como Príncipe da Paz, Salvador e Senhor. Cada profecia se cumpriu em Jesus de Nazaré, nascido em Belém.
6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government will be on his shoulder: and his name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
11 for there is born to you{} this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection: over these the second death has no power; but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and will reign with him [for] the thousand years.
