13 I can do all things *through Christ who strengthens me.

29 He gives power to the weak,

And to thosewhohave no might He increases strength.

30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary,

And the young men shall utterly fall,

31 But those who *wait on the Lord

*Shall renew their strength;

They shall mount up with wings like eagles,

They shall run and not be weary,

They shall walk and not faint.

10 *I will greatly rejoice in the Lord,

My soul shall be joyful in my God;

For *He has clothed me with the garments of salvation,

He has covered me with the robe of righteousness,

*As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments,

And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

13 for *it is God who works in you both to will and to do *for His good pleasure.

13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing Ido,*forgetting those things which are behind and *reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 *I press toward the goal for the prize of *the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Striving for a Crown

24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? *Run in such a way that you may obtain it.25 And everyone who competes fortheprize is temperate in all things. Now they doit to obtain a perishable crown, but we for*an imperishable crown.26 Therefore I run thus: *not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as onewho beats the air. 27 *But I discipline my body and *bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become *disqualified.

The Race of Faith

1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, *let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and *let us run *with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, *who for the joy that was set before Him *endured the cross, despising the shame, and *has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

The Discipline of God

3 *For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, *lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls.

23 *And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men,

11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

13 *And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be *glorified in the Son.14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.

19 *Go therefore and *make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,20 *teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am *with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.

6 *Be strong and of good courage, *do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, *He is the One who goes with you. *He will not leave you nor forsake you."

10 *Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your *might; for thereis no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.

7 A thousand may fall at your side,

And ten thousand at your right hand;

But it shall not come near you.

29 "And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind.30 For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father *knows that you need these things.

10 For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat. 11 For we hear that there are some who walk among you in a disorderly manner, not working at all, but are *busybodies. 12 Now those who are such we command and exhort through our Lord Jesus Christ *that they work in quietness and eat their own bread.

13 But asfor you, brethren, *do not grow weary in doing good.
