A mulher sábia
A wise woman builds her home,
but a foolish woman tears it down with her own hands.
Fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom.
Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment.
Fear of the Lord teaches wisdom;
humility precedes honor.
If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.
Search for the Lord and for his strength;
continually seek him.
Virtude e excelência
A mulher virtuosa é coroada de força e dignidade. Ela abre a boca com sabedoria e a instrução da bondade está na sua língua.
A Wife of Noble Character
Who can find a virtuous and capable wife?
She is more precious than rubies.
She is clothed with strength and dignity,
and she laughs without fear of the future.
When she speaks, her words are wise,
and she gives instructions with kindness.
Her children stand and bless her.
Her husband praises her:
"There are many virtuous and capable women in the world,
but you surpass them all!"
Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last;
but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.
A worthy wife is a crown for her husband,
but a disgraceful woman is like cancer in his bones.
A gracious woman gains respect,
but ruthless men gain only wealth.
Fathers can give their sons an inheritance of houses and wealth,
but only the Lord can give an understanding wife.
Exemplo e influência
A mulher sábia é exemplo de fé e bom testemunho. Suas atitudes inspiram e seu legado abençoa as gerações que virão.
Similarly, teach the older women to live in a way that honors God. They must not slander others or be heavy drinkers. Instead, they should teach others what is good. These older women must train the younger women to love their husbands and their children, to live wisely and be pure, to work in their homes, to do good, and to be submissive to their husbands. Then they will not bring shame on the word of God.
In the same way, their wives must be respected and must not slander others. They must exercise self-control and be faithful in everything they do.
Parable of the Ten Bridesmaids
"Then the Kingdom of Heaven will be like ten bridesmaidswho took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom.Five of them were foolish, and five were wise.The five who were foolish didn’t take enough olive oil for their lamps,but the other five were wise enough to take along extra oil.When the bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and fell asleep.
"At midnight they were roused by the shout, ‘Look, the bridegroom is coming! Come out and meet him!’
"All the bridesmaids got up and prepared their lamps.Then the five foolish ones asked the others, ‘Please give us some of your oil because our lamps are going out.’
"But the others replied, ‘We don’t have enough for all of us. Go to a shop and buy some for yourselves.’
"But while they were gone to buy oil, the bridegroom came. Then those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was locked.Later, when the other five bridesmaids returned, they stood outside, calling, ‘Lord! Lord! Open the door for us!’
"But he called back, ‘Believe me, I don’t know you!’
"So you, too, must keep watch! For you do not know the day or hour of my return.
