A Bíblia celebra a mulher como obra-prima da criação divina. Ela é elogiada por sua sabedoria, força, beleza interior e papel fundamental na família e na sociedade.
A mulher na criação
Deus criou o homem e a mulher à sua imagem. A mulher foi formada como ajudadora idônea — parceira de igual dignidade e valor.
27 And God created man to his own image: to the image of God he created him: male and female he created them.
21 Then the Lord God cast a deep sleep upon Adam: and when he was fast asleep, he took one of his ribs, and filled up flesh for it.22 And the Lord God built the rib which he took from Adam into a woman: and brought her to Adam.23 And Adam said: This now is bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called woman, because she was taken out of man.
Virtude e caráter
A beleza é vã e a formosura passageira, mas a mulher que teme ao Senhor é digna de louvor. Seu caráter é seu maior tesouro.
30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: the woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.
1 A wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish will pull down with her hands that also which is built.
4 A diligent woman is a crown to her husband: and she that doth things worthy of confusion, is a rottenness in his bones.
16 A gracious woman shall find glory: and the strong shall have riches.
14 House and riches are given by parents: but a prudent wife is properly from the Lord.
19 It is better to dwell in a wilderness, than with a quarrelsome and passionate woman.
11 Fear not therefore, but whatsoever thou shalt say to me I will do to thee. For all the people that dwell within the gates of my city, know that thou art a virtuous woman.
Sabedoria e serviço
As mulheres da Bíblia foram líderes, profetisas e discípulas fiéis. Jesus honrou as mulheres e as incluiu em seu ministério.
1 And it came to pass afterwards, that he travelled through the cities and towns, preaching and evangelizing the kingdom of God; and the twelve with him:2 And certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities; Mary who is called Magdalen, out of whom seven devils were gone forth,3 And Joanna the wife of Chusa, Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others who ministered unto him of their substance.
1 In like manner also let wives be subject to their husbands: that if any believe not the word, they may be won without the word, by the conversation of the wives.
7 Ye husbands, likewise dwelling with them according to knowledge, giving honour to the female as to the weaker vessel, and as to the co-heirs of the grace of life: that your prayers be not hindered.
11 The women in like manner chaste, not slanderers, but sober, faithful in all things.
3 The aged women, in like manner, in holy attire, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teaching well:4 That they may teach the young women to be wise, to love their husbands, to love their children,5 To be discreet, chaste, sober, having a care of the house, gentle, obedient to their husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
