A Bíblia celebra a mulher como obra-prima da criação divina. Ela é elogiada por sua sabedoria, força, beleza interior e papel fundamental na família e na sociedade.
A mulher na criação
Deus criou o homem e a mulher à sua imagem. A mulher foi formada como ajudadora idônea — parceira de igual dignidade e valor.
27 And God created man in his image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof.22 And the Lord God formed the rib which he had taken from the man into a woman, and brought her unto the man.23 And the man said, This time it is bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; this shall be called Woman, Ishah, because out of Man Ishi was this one taken.
Virtude e caráter
A beleza é vã e a formosura passageira, mas a mulher que teme ao Senhor é digna de louvor. Seu caráter é seu maior tesouro.
30 False is grace, and vain is beauty: a woman only that feareth the Lord shall indeed be praised.
1 The wise among women buildeth her house; but the foolish pulleth it down with her own hands.
4 A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but as rottenness in his bones is one that bringeth shame on him.
16 A woman endowed with grace will surely obtain honor; and the powerful will obtain riches.
14 House and wealth are an inheritance from fathers; but from the Lord cometh an intelligent wife.
19 It is better to dwell in a desert land, than with a quarrelsome and vexatious woman.
11 And now, my daughter, fear not: all that thou mayest say will I do for thee; for all the men in the gate of my people know that thou art a virtuous woman.
