The earth is Jehovah’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. For it was he that founded it upon seas, and established it upon floods.(Psalms 24:1,2)

Segundo, o mundo representa as pessoas — a humanidade caída e frágil, que Deus ama e deseja resgatar:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only-begotten Son, that whosoever believes on him may not perish, but have life eternal.(John 3:16)

We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in the wicked one.(1 John 5:19)

Love not the world, nor the things in the world. If any one love the world, the love of the Father is not in him; because all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.(1 John 2:15,16)

And the world is passing, and its lust, but he that does the will of God abides for eternity.(1 John 2:17)

Adulteresses, know ye not that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore is minded to be the friend of the world is constituted enemy of God.(James 4:4)

I do not demand that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them out of evil. They are not of the world, as I am not of the world.

Sanctify them by the truth: thy word is truth. As thou hast sent me into the world, I also have sent them into the world;(John 17:15-18)

If the world hate you, know that it has hated me before you. If ye were of the world, the world would love its own; but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on account of this the world hates you.(John 15:18,19)

And be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.(Romans 12:2)

Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, to keep oneself unspotted from the world.(James 1:27)

For the grace of God which carries with it salvation for all men has appeared, teaching us that, having denied impiety and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, and justly, and piously in the present course of things,(Titus 2:11,12)

Ye are the salt of the earth; but if the salt have become insipid, wherewith shall it be salted? It is no longer fit for anything but to be cast out and to be trodden under foot by men. Ye are the light of the world: a city situated on the top of a mountain cannot be hid.(Matthew 5:13,14)

And he said to them, Go into all the world, and preach the glad tidings to all the creation.(Mark 16:15)

For what does a man profit, if he should gain the whole world and suffer the loss of his soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?(Matthew 16:26)

These things have I spoken to you that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye have tribulation; but be of good courage: I have overcome the world.(John 16:33)

For all that has been begotten of God gets the victory over the world; and this is the victory which has gotten the victory over the world, our faith.(1 John 5:4)

Ye are of God, children, and have overcome them, because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.(1 John 4:4)

See that there be no one who shall lead you away as a prey through philosophy and vain deceit, according to the teaching of men, according to the elements of the world, and not according to Christ.(Colossians 2:8)

because our struggle is not against blood and flesh, but against principalities, against authorities, against the universal lords of this darkness, against spiritual power of wickedness in the heavenlies.(Ephesians 6:12)
