O namoro cristão deve ser vivido com sabedoria, pureza e propósito. A Bíblia orienta sobre escolher um cônjuge, guardar o coração e honrar a Deus em todo relacionamento.
Guardar o coração
Sobre tudo o que se deve guardar, guarda o teu coração, porque dele procedem as fontes da vida. O namoro exige vigilância e sabedoria.
23 With all watchfulness keep thy heart, because life issueth out from it.
14 Bear not the yoke with unbelievers. For what participation hath justice with injustice? Or what fellowship hath light with darkness?15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? Or what part hath the faithful with the unbeliever?

Pureza e santidade
O corpo é templo do Espírito Santo. A Bíblia nos chama a fugir da imoralidade e esperar no amor com paciência e respeito mútuo.
18 Fly fornication. Every sin that a man doth, is without the body; but he that committeth fornication, sinneth against his own body.19 Or know you not, that your members are the temple of the Holy Ghost, who is in you, whom you have from God; and you are not your own ?20 For you are bought with a great price. Glorify and bear God in your body.
13 Meat for the belly, and the belly for the meats; but God shall destroy both it and them: but the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.
9 But if they do not contain themselves, let them marry. For it is better to marry than to be burnt.
4 I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, that you stir not up, nor awake my love till she please.
4 Marriage honourable in all, and the bed undefiled. For fornicators and adulterers God will judge.
A esposa prudente vem do Senhor
Deus criou o homem e a mulher para completarem-se. A casa e os bens são herança dos pais, mas a esposa prudente vem do Senhor.
18 And the Lord God said: It is not good for man to be alone: let us make him a help like unto himself.
14 House and riches are given by parents: but a prudent wife is properly from the Lord.
