10 Do not fear, for I am with you;  *

do not be afraid, for I am your God.  *

I will strengthen you; I will help you;

I will hold on to you with my righteous right hand.  *

13 For I am the Lord your God,  *

who holds your right hand,

who says to you, "Do not fear,

I will help you.

14 Do not fear, you worm Jacob,  *

you men  * of Israel.

I will help you" —

this is the  Lord’s declaration.

Your Redeemer  * is the Holy One of Israel.  *

9 Zion, herald of good news,

go up on a high mountain.  *

Jerusalem, herald of good news,  *

raise your voice loudly.

Raise it, do not be afraid!

Say to the cities of Judah,

"Here is your God! "  *

9 Haven’t I commanded you: be strong and courageous?  * Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

6 Be strong and courageous;  * don’t be terrified or afraid of them. For the Lord your God is the one who will go with you;  * he will not leave you or abandon you."  *

The Abrahamic Covenant

1 After these events, the word of the Lord came  * to Abram in a vision:

Do not be afraid,  * Abram.

I am your shield;  *

your reward will be very great.

16 On that day it will be said to Jerusalem:

"Do not fear;

Zion, do not let your hands grow weak.  *

17 The Lord your God is among you,

a warrior  * who saves.

He will rejoice over you  * with gladness.

He will be quiet  * in his love.

He will delight in you with singing."  *

16 Elisha said, "Don’t be afraid,  * for those who are with us outnumber those who are with them."  *

17 Then Elisha prayed, "Lord, please open his eyes and let him see." So the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he saw that the mountain was covered with horses and chariots of fire  * all around Elisha.

21 Don’t be afraid, land;  *

rejoice and be glad,

for the Lord has done astonishing things.  *

7 Then the Lord said to me:

Do not say, "I am only a youth,"  *

for you will go to everyone I send you to

and speak whatever I tell you.  *

8 Do not be afraid of anyone,  *

for I will be with you to rescue you.  *

This is the  Lord’s declaration.

9 The Lord said to Paul in a night vision, "Don’t be afraid, but keep on speaking and don’t be silent.10 For I am with you, and no one will lay a hand on you to hurt you, because I have many people in this city."*

6 "But you, son of man, do not be afraid of them and do not be afraid of their words,  * even though briers and thorns are beside you and you live among scorpions.  * Don’t be afraid of their words or discouraged by the look on their faces, for they are a rebellious house. 7 Speak my words to them whether they listen or refuse to listen,  * for they are rebellious.

36 When Jesus overheard  * what was said, he told the synagogue leader, "Don’t be afraid.*Only believe."

10 Don’t be afraid of what you are about to suffer. Look, the devil*is about to throw some of you into prison to test you, and you will experience affliction for ten days.*Be faithful to the point of death,*and I will give you the crown*of life.*

28 Don’t fear those who kill the body but are not able to kill the soul;*rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.*

20 But after he had considered these things, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, don’t be afraid to take Mary as your wife, because what has been conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.  *

30 Then the angel told her, "Do not be afraid, Mary,  * for you have found favor with God.  *

8 When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’s knees and said, "Go away from me, because I’m a sinful man, Lord! "  *
