4 Nicodemus said to Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?"

5 Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, *unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.6 That which is born of the flesh is *flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’8 *The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit."

5 Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, *unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.6 That which is born of the flesh is *flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’

15 Assuredly, I say to you, *whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will *by no means enter it."

Who Is the Greatest?

1 At *that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, "Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?"

2 Then Jesus called a little *child to Him, set him in the midst of them, 3 and said, "Assuredly, I say to you, *unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.4 *Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

17 Therefore, if anyone *is in Christ, heis*a new creation; *old things have passed away; behold, all things have become *new.

4 Therefore we were *buried with Him through baptism into death, that *just as Christ was raised from the dead by *the glory of the Father, *even so we also should walk in newness of life.

5 *For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be inthelikeness of His resurrection, 6 knowing this, that *our old man was crucified with Him, that *the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. 7 For *he who has died has been freed from sin.

11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be *dead indeed to sin, but *alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

20 I have been *crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh *I live by faith in the Son of God, *who loved me and gave Himself for me.

22 that you *put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23 and *be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you *put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

9 Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, 10 and have put on the new man who *is renewed in knowledge *according to the image of Him who *created him, 11 where there is neither *Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, *but Christ is all and in all.

12 But *as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 *who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

A Heavenly Inheritance

3 *Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who *according to His abundant mercy *has begotten us again to a living hope *through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, *reserved in heaven for you,

23 *having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, *through the word of God which lives and abides forever,

2 *as newborn babes, desire the pure *milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, 3 if indeed you have *tasted that the Lord is gracious.

1 Behold *what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that *we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, *because it did not know Him. 2 Beloved, *now we are children of God; and *it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, *we shall be like Him, for *we shall see Him as He is.

4 But *when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, *born *of a woman, *born under the law, 5 *to redeem those who were under the law, *that we might receive the adoption as sons.

19 Then *I will give them one heart, and I will put *a new spirit within them, and take *the stony heart out of their flesh, and give them a heart of flesh, 20 *that they may walk in My statutes and keep My judgments and do them; *and they shall be My people, and I will be their God.

4 But God, *who is rich in mercy, because of His *great love with which He loved us, 5 *even when we were dead in trespasses, *made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
