O nascimento do Salvador
O anjo anunciou: hoje vos nasceu um Salvador, que é Cristo, o Senhor! A virgem concebeu pelo Espírito Santo e deu à luz o Filho de Deus.
10 And the messenger said unto themBe not afraid! For lo! I bring you good tidings of a great joy, the which shall be for all the people:
11 That there hath been born unto you, this day, a saviour,Who is Christ the Lordin the city of David!
4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of a city Nazareth, into Judaea, into the city of David which is called Bethlehem; because he was of the house and family of David:5 to enrol himself with Mary who was betrothed to him, she being with child.
6 And it came to pass, while they were there, that the days were fulfilled for her to give birth;7 and she gave birth to her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
A profecia cumprida
Isaías profetizou: a virgem conceberá e dará à luz um filho que se chamará Emanuel. Em Jesus, essa promessa se cumpriu perfeitamente.
14 Wherefore let My Lord Himself give you a sign,Lo! a Virgin, being with child and giving birth to a son, thou wilt call his name Immanuel.
20 But, when, these things, he had pondered, lo! a messenger of the Lord, by dream, appeared to him, saying,Joseph, son of David! do not fear to take unto thee Mary thy wife, for, that which, in her, hath been begotten, is of , Holy, Spirit.
21 Moreover she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus,for, he, will save his people from their sins.
22 But, all this, hath come to pass, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord, through the prophet, saying:23 Lo! a Virgin, shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son,and they shall call his name Emmanuel; which is, being translated, God with us.
Glória a Deus nas alturas
Os pastores glorificaram a Deus e os anjos cantaram: 'Glória a Deus nas alturas e paz na terra entre os homens a quem Ele quer bem!'
14 Glory, in the highest, unto God! And, on earth, peace, among men of goodwill.
20 And the shepherds returned, giving glory and singing praise unto God, over all things which they had heard and seen, according as it had been told unto them.
