Nem só de pão vive o homem
'Nem só de pão vive o homem' — essa declaração de Jesus ao diabo no deserto revela que a Palavra de Deus é o verdadeiro alimento que sustenta a vida em plenitude.
O verdadeiro alimento
Quando tentado a transformar pedras em pão, Jesus respondeu com a Escritura: a vida humana depende de toda palavra que sai da boca de Deus.
4 But Jesus answered him, The holy writings say, "Man cannot live on bread only. He needs to live by every word that God says."

Jesus, o pão vivo
Jesus é o pão da vida que desceu do céu. Quem come deste pão viverá para sempre. Ele é o sustento que satisfaz a fome da alma.
35 Jesus said, I am the bread that gives life. Anyone who comes to me will never be hungry. Anyone who believes in me will never be thirsty.
48 I am the bread that gives life.
51 I am the bread that gives life. I came down from heaven. If anyone eats this bread, he will live for ever. I will give bread so that the world may live. I am that bread.
57 My Father is living. He sent me. I have my life from him. In the same way, the person who eats of me will live because of me.58 This bread which came down from heaven is not like the bread that your fathers ate. They ate bread but they died. Anyone who eats this bread from heaven will live for ever.

Não andeis ansiosos pelo que comer ou beber. Buscai primeiro o Reino de Deus, e todas estas coisas vos serão acrescentadas.
25 So, I tell you this. Do not be troubled about what you will eat or drink to keep alive. Do not be troubled about what you will wear on your body. Life itself is worth more than food, and the body is worth more than clothes.
29 Do not keep asking, "What shall we eat?" and, "What shall we drink?" Do not be troubled about that.30 All the people who are not Jews work for these things. Your Father in heaven knows that you need them.31 But work for Gods kingdom. Then you will have all these things also.
31 Jesus said to them, I have food that you do not know about.32 So the disciples asked one another, Has anyone brought him food to eat?33 Jesus said to them, My food is to obey the one who sent me and to finish his work.34 Do you not say, "In four months it will be harvest time"? Listen, I say. Look up and see the fields. The harvest is ready to cut now.
