Orgulho
O orgulho é um dos pecados mais condenados na Bíblia. Deus resiste aos soberbos, mas dá graça aos humildes. A humildade é o caminho da honra verdadeira.
Deus resiste ao soberbo
A soberba precede a ruína e o orgulho antecede a queda. Deus abomina o coração altivo e promete humilhar quem se exalta.
Humildade como caminho
Humilhai-vos diante do Senhor e Ele vos exaltará. A grandeza no Reino vem pelo serviço humilde, não pela autopromoção.
6 but geveth more grace.
10 Cast doune youre selves before the lorde and he shall lift you vp.
9 Let the brother of lowe degre reioyce in yt he is exalted10 and the ryche in that he is made lowe. For eve as ye flower of the grasse shall he vanysshe awaye.
5 Lykwyse ye yonger submit youre selves vnto the elder. Submit youre selves every man one to another knet youre selves togedder in lowlines of mynde. For god resisteth ye proude and geveth grace to the humble.6 Submit youre selves therfore vnder the myghty honde of god that he maye exalt you whe the tyme is come.7 Cast all youre care to him: for he careth for you.
11 For whosoever exalteth him sylfe shalbe brought lowe. And he yt hubleth him sylfe shalbe exalted
3 that nothinge be done thorow stryfe or vayne glory but that in mekenes of mynde every man esteme other better then him selfe4 and that no man consyder his awne but what is mete for other.5 Let the same mynde be in you that was in Christ Iesu:
Os perigos do orgulho
O orgulho cega, gera contendas e afasta de Deus. A Escritura adverte contra a soberba da vida e a vã glória mundana.
16 For all that is in ye worlde (as the lust of the flesshe the lust of the eyes and ye pryde of gooddes) is not of the father: but of ye worlde
12 Wherfore let hym that thynketh he stodeth take hede least he fall.
3 And though I bestowed all my gooddes to fede ye poore and though I gave my body even that I burned and yet had no love it profeteth me nothinge.
28 And vile thinges of the worlde and thinges which are despysed hath God chosen yee and thinges of no reputacion for to brynge to nought thinges of reputacion29 that no flesshe shulde reioyce in his presence.
17 Let him yt reioyseth reioyce in the lorde.18 For he that prayseth him silfe is not alowed: but he whom the lorde prayseth.
20 And he sayde: yt defileth a ma which cometh oute of a man.21 For fro wt in even oute of the herte of men proceade evill thoughtes: advantry fornicacion murder22 theeft coveteousnes wickednes diceyte vnclennes and a wicked eye blasphemy pryde folysshnes:23 all these evyll thinges come from with in and defile a man.
17 Charge them that are ryche in this worlde that they be not excedynge wyse and that they trust not in the vncertayne ryches but in the livynge god which geveth vs aboundantly all thynges to enioye them
O olhar de Deus
O Senhor não olha como o homem. Ele vê o coração e se agrada dos quebrantados de espírito e dos que tremem diante da sua Palavra.
16 Be of lyke affeccion one towardes another. Be not hye mided: but make youreselves equall to the of ye lower sorte. Be not wyse in youre awne opinios.
22 But ye frute of sprete is loue ioye peace longesufferinge getlenes goodnes faythfulnes23 meknes temperancye. Agaynst suche ther is no lawe.
